Field Day Engagement – Kasimure Village

Farm Distributors Kasimure proudly attended a Field Day held on the 7th of May 2026 at Kasimure Village 06, Chikuti Area, hosted at Mr and Mrs Chaoma’s homestead.

The event provided a valuable opportunity to engage directly with farmers, sharing knowledge and gathering important feedback on the effectiveness of our herbicides in the field. Farmers openly expressed their experiences, helping us better understand their needs and improve our service delivery.

We were also honored by the presence of Mrs Nyamadzawo, the Agritex Supervisor, who commended our work and encouraged farmers to always seek guidance from qualified agricultural professionals for improved productivity.

We remain committed to supporting farmers with effective solutions, expert advice, and continuous improvement driven by real field experiences.

Farm Distributors Attended the Field Day in Ward 4 Mudzi District ,MashEast Province .The event held at Mr Hodzi Homested in Hodzi Village (Host Farmer).The farmer is doing many projects like Fish farming,traditional grains and horticultural crops.The day was blessed by *The Director in Ministry of Agriculture Training Department Mrs Makuku* as the guest of honour ,She urged farmers to develop from household level through good agriculture practices by consulting the *ARDAS team.* She also ephasized on goodness Pfumvudza farming (shamhu yenzara) . *FD* acknowledge farmers to buy chemical from their shops across the country where cheap products and consultations meet .

🌱 Nematodes in Agriculture – Protect Your Crops

Nematodes are tiny soil pests that attack plant roots, causing stunted growth, yellowing, wilting, and poor yields. They silently affect crops like to***co, maize, tomatoes, and vegetables, often going unnoticed until serious damage is done.

Alternaria Leaf Spot on Watermelon

*Alternaria Leaf Spot on Watermelon, also called Alternaria Leaf Blight.
*It is a fungal disease caused by Alternaria cucumerina.

*Symptoms
-Small cellular brown spots with white centres on leaves.
concentric rings on the upper Leaf surface.
-Yellow halo surround young lesions-Spots merge forming large necrotic areas that cause leaves to curl and die.
-Fruit lesions.

*Management

*Cultural control
-Crop rotation - Rotate with non-host crop to reduce the pathogen in the soil.

-Debris removal removal of plant debris after harvest

-Irrigation -avoid overhead Irrigation which creates wet conditions conductive to fungal growth

-Field hygiene

*Chemical control
-Apply preventative fungicides at appropriate intervals.
