away from sunlight.
5.Any left-over vaccine should be properly disposed off. Vaccines should not be used after their expiry
date is over.

buried/burnt suitably away from the poultry sheds.
7.The waste of farm should be suitably disposed off.
8.Any bird showing advanced signs of a disease, should be removed from the shed and culled. It can be
sent to laboratory for diagnosis.
9.Birds showing advanced signs of a disease should be shown to a qualified veterinarian and suitable
medication/treatment be given as per his/drug manufacturers recommendations.
10.Poultry manure, if infected, can spread disease, from one batch to another. Keep the litter dry, remove
it after flock is sold and dispose the manure properly and quickly.
11.Keep proper records on mortality and its causes and the treatment given to birds. Dates of vaccination
for each flock should be properly recorded.
12.Rats are important carriers of poultry disease. Avoid rats. Use suitable rat poisons/rat traps.
13.Many poultry medicines can be given in drinking water. When medication is to be given, remove the
waterers in poultry sheds on the previous evening. Next morning give medicine in measured quantity of
water, so that entire medicine will be quickly consumed and there will be no wastage of medicines.

If you've ever considered raising rabbits for meat, this post is a must-read. We're discussing whether raising rabbits for meat is worth it and if it's profitable, whether you can raise meat rabbits in your backyard and so much more!
Lets take a look at rabbits over other livestock. If you have probably not heard of rabbit farming before or looking for more info on raising rabbits, check this out:
Rabbits require little space than large livestock. This is important, especially in areas where there is shortage of agricultural land in addition to Limited cost of the animals and of the housing structures.
Secondly they eat a wide variety of plants and grains.
Highly reproductive: litters are large and with a short gestation period. This is one single advantage you cannot overlook. Efficient reproductive ability. Rabbits are prolific in terms of offspring (kg/year/doe) and will breed all year round if well managed. Does (female rabbits) can kindle (give birth) up to 12 kittens. A doe can easily give 40 or more offspring per year. To estimate the potential of meat production, 2(kg) x 40. The result will equal not less than 80 Kilograms of quality white meat from just 1 doe in a year.
Have rapid growth rate, Early age of sexual maturity (4-5 months) and to add on Short fattening period. With proper care and feeding they will be 8 weeks old or less at this stage. Young rabbits are ready for market at 1.8 to 2.2 kg.
Another wonderful advantage. Rabbits have an efficient feed conversion ratio (FCR). A rabbit will readily produce 3kg of meat on the same quantity of feed it takes a cow to produce 0.5kg.
Rabbit meat is one of the most nutritious meat available. It is lean, has good taste and can be prepared in over 300 different ways. No religious taboos about consuming rabbit meat.
Rabbits are noiseless creatures; they don’t make annoying sounds that can frighten and annoy neighbors.
They produce great compost.

Peafowls: Fun Facts (Zambia edition)
10 things you didn't know about peafowls

Peafowls are also known as peacocks, but strictly speaking, the term "peacock" only refers to the male bird. The female is called a peahen, and the young are called peachicks.

Peafowls are native to South Asia, but they have been introduced to many parts of the world, including North America, Europe, and Australia.

The colorful feathers of the male peafowl are not just for show. They are used in courtship displays to attract females, and also as a defense mechanism to startle predators.

The peacock's iridescent feathers are not actually colored, but are instead made up of tiny structures that reflect and refract light in a way that creates the illusion of color.

Peafowls are omnivores and feed on a variety of foods including insects, fruits, seeds, and small animals like rodents and snakes.

Peafowls are not just known for their beautiful feathers; they also have a distinctive call that sounds like a high-pitched "meow."

Peafowls are social birds and are often found in small groups called "parties." During the breeding season, males will establish territories and defend them from other males.

Peafowls are surprisingly good fliers and can fly up to 50 feet in the air. However, they prefer to spend most of their time on the ground.

Peafowls have been domesticated for thousands of years and have been kept as ornamental birds in many cultures.

Peafowls have been featured in many works of art and literature throughout history, and are considered symbols of beauty, pride, and immortality in many cultures.

An Old Man Lived in the Village

An old man lived in the village. He was one of the most unfortunate people in the world. The whole village was tired of him; he was always gloomy, he constantly complained and was always in a bad mood.
The longer he lived, the more bile he was becoming and the more poisonous were his words. People avoided him, because his misfortune became contagious. It was even unnatural and insulting to be happy next to him.

He created the feeling of unhappiness in others.
But one day, when he turned eighty years old, an incredible thing happened. Instantly everyone started hearing the rumour:

“An Old Man is happy today, he doesn’t complain about anything, smiles, and even his face is freshened up.”

The whole village gathered together. The old man was asked:
Villager: What happened to you?

“Nothing special. Eighty years I’ve been chasing happiness, and it was useless. And then I decided to live without happiness and just enjoy life. That’s why I’m happy now.” – An Old Man

Moral of the story:

Don’t chase happiness. Enjoy your life.
