This is a tick that was fully engorged on a dog and fell off. It was put in a ziplock bag and we waited to see what happened to show you all. It’s been in the bag for 2 weeks with no air flow and started to lay eggs about 5 days ago, continuing to do so even still today. Imagine not knowing this was on your animal and it fell off in your house. You’d have 1000’s of baby ticks. GROSS! Please make sure your animals are currently being treated with flea and tick prevention. We know how prevalent they are in our area.

As Baobab Kennels, we are delighted to have been part of the Zambia Boerboel Workshop (SABBS 2024) held from the 23rd to the 24th of March at Mika Hotel. During this event, several important topics were discussed, including General Health, coat, forequarter, temperament, and appearance. Day two of the workshop was particularly enjoyable as we focused on practical aspects in alignment with the knowledge gained.

Thank you for organizing this valuable workshop, and we look forward to future opportunities for collaboration and learning.

Whether it’s getting every last morsel of food from their bowl, panting after a game of fetch, or showering you with affection, a dog’s tongue plays an important role in how they interact with their environment.

If you notice your pup panting excessively on a warm or hot day, get them into a cooler location and give them plenty of water to avoid possible heatstroke.
