Well, what can we say about KZNPC InterBranch 2025?!? What an amazing experience for all our riders and horses!

HWPC took 15 riders and 16 horses to this years InterBranch at Shongweni Club and had an extremely busy and successful three days! Filled with fun, friends, teamwork and special time with our ponies.

All our kids did so well it would be impossible to list all our “credits” but if we had to highlight a few special achievements…

- HWPC won overall for the 3rd year in a row 🤩
- Taylyn, Maryna, Grace & Kayla won the Quiz
- Emma won Junior Victor Ludorum
- Leila won Children’s Victor Ludorum
- Beetle won Junior Champion Horse
- Jimmy won Children’s Champion Pony
- Merrylegs won the very special award for Long Service to Pony Club 💙
- Jen, Jaxon & Jason won the Social Media Competition

Well done Everyone! And as always the hugest thanks to Sally (and the whole Sunrae team), our HWPC Committee, all the moms and dads who braved the long days and cold weather, and all those who volunteered to help. Hopefully we will have forgotten how exhausting it was by the time it rolls around next year 🫣😂

On the 1st of June 2024 KZN Pony Club invited all branches to the unmounted rally for the human first aid badge.
Shongweni PC, Hillcrest Waterfall PC and JoJo's PC attended. It was a wonderfully successful morning filled with laughter and learning.

A huge thank you to KZN Show Jumping who kindly offered the use of the barn at the Durban Shongweni Club.

GREEN IS QUEEN

You can’t talk about Badminton Horse Trials without mentioning one of the greatest of all time; the iconic Lucinda Green.

A truly illustrious career that includes an unmatched record of six victories at Badminton Horse Trials on six different horses; including back to back winners in 1976/77 and 1983/84. Twice winner of Burghley Horse Trials, Team Silver at the 1984 Los Angeles Olympics and Individual and Team Gold at the 1982 World Championships, alongside multiple European Championships medals and countless Eventing achievements.

Lucinda was just nineteen when she won her first Badminton title on Be Fair in 1973. The chestnut, acquired for her fifteenth birthday, took Lucinda from Pony Club all the way to the first of two European championship titles and her first Olympics in Montreal.

Revered for her attitude, her approach to horses and the grace and elegance she displays in the saddle, Lucinda will always be one of the greatest (and one of our favourites). In a sport that can never be described as simple, Lucinda has always been the epitome of simplicity and flawlessness - understanding perfectly how to bring out the best of herself and her horses; a true embodiment of fitness and finesse.

The quintessential Queen of Eventing.
