Although we have always owned Arabians, our dream to breed them was only realised when we left successful careers in Gauteng to move to our farm, aptly named Eagle's Nest (Alamut), to breed Straight Egyptian Arabians. We give preference to functionality and breed "tent" horses that have the heart to go all day in the mountains, yet have the temperament to be handled by a child. In our SE program o

ur stallion Sidi Vision traces back to some of the best of Nazeer (Ansata Ibn Halima and Morafic), while our foundation mares are out of the 'old' SE bloodlines such as Tuhotmos, Madkour, Taymour and Golson. This combination proved to be a good blend of functionality and type and we look forward to starting these horses in endurance.

One of our new month old SE c**t foals out of Sireset Moon Maiden x Alamut Idris. Believes he is the king on the farm, but there are many others with the same belief! With stallions such as Farid Albadeia, Asfour, Thee Cyclone, Anaza El Farid, Jamil, Nabiel and El Halimaar in his 3rd and 4th generation pedigree, he has the genetic potential to become what he already thinks he is!

Simeon Sarel (Asfour x Wed Albadeia by Farid Albadeia).
Sarel was a SE Arabian stallion, bred at the Simeon stud in Australia and imported to SA as a c**t.
Sarel was one of the few Asfour sons imported to SA but unique through his dam line, being the only grandson in SA of the legendary Farid Albadeia.
Farid Albadeia was crowned 6 x National champion stallion in Egypt, and in my opinion was one of the best examples of true form to function.
Sarel was powerfully built, had calm and soulful eyes, a sloped shoulder with strong and wide chest. He moved like a true war horse, and we used him not only as a breeding stallion but also as a cattle horse.
We at Alamut Arabians will miss this majestic and noble stallion but take heart in the fact that his legacy will live on through his offspring, all of which inherited his noble and calm temperament as well as strong build and riding ability.
Alamut Idris is one of the first SE Sarel c**ts bred at Alamut Arabians. He is only 5 years old, and not only are we impressed with his foals, but he is also a pleasure under saddle.
