Shatranj Dogo Argentinos Southern Africa The Dogo Argentino in Africa…our dogos are working in many African countries, as guardians, trackers, hunters, in anti poaching units & SAR dogs.

Breeding for function, our Argentenean Mastiffs have high work drive,excellent temperament and conformation. ShaTranj Dogos came into being as an ideal more than 20 years ago. At that point, Dogos weren't available in South Africa and the attention moved to the breeding and showing off the American Pitt Bullterrier. After 20 years, the dreams finally came together when I was searching for a replac

ement for my Pittie companion dog, Brock. We were fortunate enough to walk in on an amazing pup, and so Boesman (Búsan) came into our lives. Today we have four breeding females and four breeding males, representing four widely separated lines. Breeding is done very selectively and solely with the purpose of producing working Dogos, on par with breed standards, as well as our own rigorous selection for conformation, temperament, work drive and character. All our dogs are working dogs...performing as tracking dogs, for wounded or snared game, anti poaching and problem animal control. Having various breeding animals on the farm…Dogos being the most important by far, followed by various game species, European wild boar crosses, ball pythons (and hence mice and rats🙈)…I believe the full moon conspired against our carefully planned long-weekend of leisure….we’ve had Dogo pups, piglets, mice….😳🙈…all off them deciding to drop their offspring, RIGHT NOW….😳🙈…

Ok, I’ve seen things in my life before…🙈🙈…we breed Dogos and hunt pigs….this is NOT what I expect at my front gate on a Sunday morning, where I feed the random peacock that washed in with the recent floods….

The growling and ruckus from 13 dogos that awakened me, made it sound like a terrorist attack inbound and I dressed up pretty smartly….to find a@f$;$;& wild boar grazing casually by the gate…😳😳
