I had to say good bye for the last time to this old lady on Friday morning at 5am. Rest well old lady you gave me amazing show days at the Cape Rabbit Club. I never bred you as I promised, you were to precious. You were the last of the Dwarfs & More legacy and a chapter closed for good. You were the best house bun one could ever ask for. Rest well my dear Tandi Jnr. Forever in my heart and never forgotten 🐰🌈❤️

Meet Dr Bernice 🤗

Dr Bernice is a veterinarian and the owner of the Cape Exotic Animal Hospital.

She completed her veterinary degree in Melbourne Australia, and then went on to complete a Surgical Internship and work as Registrar at a specialist centre in Sydney. After working in Sydney for 3 years she returned to South Africa in 2011. She has been working exclusively as Exotic and Avian vet since 2014 and opened CEAH in 2018.

She has always had a special love for strange critters and grew up on a farm where she was surrounded by everything from orphaned lambs, chameleons, pet chickens, rabbits. puppies, piglets to doves and baby swallows that needed hand rearing etc!

As many of you noticed she was on leave for a large part of last year after welcoming their second (human 😄) baby into the family! She is now back at full speed at CEAH and is also the official Sea Turtle Vet of the Two Oceans Aquarium Foundation.

We asked Dr Bernice some fun questions:

Her answer - Yes often!

Her answer- Friends

❔Would you rather wrestle an iguana or a macaw?
Her answer- An Iguana 😄
