Tonight, as New Year’s Eve arrives…

As the celebrations begin, we brace ourselves for another night of fear, panic, and heartbreak.

Fireworks terrify animals. Every year, pets bolt in terror, go missing, get injured and some never make it home.

🚫 SETTING OFF FIREWORKS IN CAPE TOWN IS BANNED AND ILLEGAL.

There are NO exceptions!

Anyone caught setting off fireworks, causing distress, or harming an animal WILL FACE PROSECUTION.

🐾 Protect your pets tonight:

• Keep them indoors and secure.
• Close curtains, play calming music.
• Stay with them if you can.
• Make sure they are microchipped or wearing ID tag.

Our Inspectorate and Medical Teams will be on call all night, because while humans celebrate, animals suffer.

Fireworks are not a celebration to them.
They are a nightmare.
