Another momentous day for Scotty Dog, as we made our first delivery to on Beach Road, Strand. I have to tell you, the coffee is fabulous, the atmosphere very inviting, and - for real - books, coffee and shortbread; what more could a person ask for??

Pop in and visit, browse their quite extensive range of books, support local businesses, enjoy a great cup of coffee and a pack of your favourite shortbread. While there, ask about their live music, networking sessions, workshops and poetry evenings. I see this becoming one of the most popular spots in Strand...

NEW OUTLET IN STRAND!

Scotty Dog Shortbread is now on sale at Gekleurde Koppie coffee shop on Beach Road in Strand (opposite Strand Pavilion). There's a lovely "stay a while" feeling as you walk through the door, a real homeliness. The coffee is great, the cakes are divine, and the decor is delightful! And if you only have time for a biscuit, well, now there's Scotty Dog Shortbread on sale as well. Pop in and say hi to Anita and Marisca 😃

It's Strand, it's almost winter, it's cold, and it's time for fires and hot chocolate. The only thing missing is a crumbly baked confection of some kind...if only Scotty Dog Shortbread could be bought somewhere in Strand....

Just received the following comment on WhatsApp from a customer:

"I have a confession… I opened the chocolate shortbread… family only gets back tonight… don’t think any will survive me for them to taste 😂😆🤣"

I also got a phone call yesterday from another customer to say that she's had to hide the batch that she bought from me this week from her family, otherwise her brother from Durban who still has to arrive won't get any!

I LOVE stories like this! It's why I don't actually know with 100% certainty the shelf-life of the shortbread - it never lasts long enough to test! What I WILL say is it needs to be kept in an airtight container once opened, and then it SHOULD theoretically last for 2-3 months. But, even in my house, it's going to be difficult to test that 😆

Today is a special day for Scotty Dog Shortbread - it's St Andrew's Day, where we celebrate Scotland's patron saint.

In light of that, and as tomorrow is 1st December, it's time to announce our limited edition Christmas specials, in time for Secret Santa, teacher's gifts, or just that special stocking filler.

It's nearly Hogmanay, one of Scotland's favourite celebrations. You might call it New Year's Eve or Old Year's Night, but it boils down to a celebration of being out with the old and in with the new. Simon knows what's what - Scots do love their shortbread at New Year! To end off 2023 and bring in 2024, why not have some traditional Scottish Shortbread?
