We can’t emphasize enough how a well-organized feed room makes all the difference—especially now as we slowly recover from the storm. It’s been a tough journey, but step by step, we’re rebuilding. While we still have a lot to do—like putting up shelters—our paddocks and electric fencing are getting back on track. Thank you all for your continued support and patience as we take it all one step at a time. Together, we’ll get through this! ❤️

As you both venture onto this new journey, I just want you to know how incredibly grateful I am for every single moment shared throughout the years. You were never just clients to me — you became family. Through every high and every storm, you stood by me with loyalty, kindness, laughter, and unwavering support, and I will never forget that.

Our feed room is finally taking shape and is almost completed 🙌🏻

After everything we’ve been through these past few weeks, seeing progress like this means the world to us. We are rebuilding step by step, one day at a time, and slowly getting back on our feet.

A huge thank you to Spurwing Horse Feeds for donating 4 bags of feed during this incredibly difficult time. After last week’s devastating storm, with our roof literally blown away, a large amount of our feed got completely soaked. It was simply too dangerous in the middle of the storm to try move feed bags — our priority at that moment was the safety of our horses and ourselves.

Spurwing truly came through for us when we needed it most. Their feed is absolutely incredible and despite all the chaos and stress, our horses have not dropped an inch of weight. We are beyond grateful for the support and kindness shown to us.

To everyone who has donated, shared, messaged and supported us through this heartbreaking time — thank you from the bottom of my heart. We are almost halfway to our goal on BackaBuddy and I honestly cannot believe the kindness and support we have received.

After the devastating storm destroyed our shelters and stable roofs, it felt like our whole world had been torn apart overnight. Seeing people come together to help our horses and our yard has given us hope again during one of the hardest times we have faced.

Every donation, no matter how small, is helping us get one step closer to rebuilding safe shelters for the horses. Many of these horses are retired, older, and rely on us completely for safety and comfort.

We still have a long road ahead and desperately need continued support to get all the shelters back up before more bad weather hits. Please, if you can, continue sharing our BackaBuddy campaign far and wide. Every share could reach someone willing to help us rebuild.

Good morning everyone

Our signal is extremely poor at the moment, so I hope this message reaches everyone.

I wanted to give you an update regarding the shelters and the repairs after the storm damage.

Our first priority is to ensure the horses have adequate shelter for the remainder of winter. We are currently looking at purchasing a 100m roll of 99% shade netting, which will cost approximately R5000, to help cover the shelter areas as quickly as possible.

We are also considering using ripstop canvas for the roofing, as it is fully waterproof and should provide strong protection against the weather conditions. In the meantime, I am waiting for my husband to calculate exactly how many poles and how much wood will be needed per shelter so that we can begin getting quotations for materials.

A few clients have kindly reached out to ask how they can help or contribute. Please know that I am not expecting anyone to assist financially, but for those who would like to contribute in any way, your support would be deeply appreciated during this difficult time.

At the moment, everything feels overwhelming. I hardly slept last night trying to process the damage, work through costs, and figure out how we are going to rebuild what was lost. It has been heartbreaking to see so much hard work destroyed so quickly, but the support, kindness, and care from all of you has meant more than I can express.
