🩷This is Stroodle, but we call her Spirit. A beautiful female soul.🩷
Tucked into a corner, eyes wide with fear, body curled up in defense… this is not just a dog seeking warmth, this is Stroodle, a soul that has been hurt, over and over again.
When animals like Stroodle arrive at the SPCA, it’s not just their bodies that need healing; it’s their spirit. Their trust. Their belief that the world can be kind.
And that takes time, patience, and gentle love. Every single day.
Stroodle doesn’t yet know that not all hands hurt. That blankets can mean comfort, not punishment. That there is safety in human presence, not danger.
What you're seeing is trauma. What you don’t see is the hours of silent support, soft words, and slow trust-building happening behind the scenes:
🐾Sitting quietly in her space so she doesn’t feel alone.
🐾 Repeating soft, steady words to build familiarity.
🐾 Handfeeding because she's too scared to approach a bowl.
🐾 Cleaning, caring, never rushing, because healing doesn’t follow a schedule.
🐾 Celebrating the tiniest victories: a glance, a sigh, a tail twitch.
🔹️This is what true SPCA work looks like.🔹️
Not just rescue. Not just kennels and food. But rebuilding spirits, like Stroodle’s, with everything we have.
She may be hiding now. But we see her. We believe in her. And one day soon, you’ll see a new photo: ears up, eyes bright, heart full of hope.
Because this is what we do.
If you want to be part of Stroodle’s journey, please donate or share. Every act of compassion matters.
