Good morning. It's me. Kent.
I have arrived. Half of me is on the bed now — the important half, the half with the face. This is not a request. This is a status update.
There is a sound I make. You know the sound. It is not a bark and it is not a whine, it is something in between, something that says: I have needs, and they are urgent, and there are two of them. Walk. Breakfast. In some order. I am not fussy about which comes first, I am only fussy about the waiting.
I will stay exactly like this — front paws committed, back half still on the floor, full body weight leaning in — until something happens. I have all morning. I do not, in fact, have all morning. That is the whole point of the moaning.
Get up. I love you. Breakfast.
