This historical farmhouse is situated in the breathtaking Robertson Wine Valley. The estate is also home to Rialheim.

Visiting this property is sure to be a magical experience. Clairvaux has been in the Kloppers family for the past 150 years. After the death of Beatrice Kloppers in 1988 the homestead and land have been rented out. In 2014 Clairvaux became the new home of Rial & Daniel owners of Rialheim which also marks the return of the family after 26 years. Clairvaux now proudly host the heart of the Ceramic Factory studio.

Paying Tribute to Hennie

A true legend of Clairvaux. Over three generations he helped shape the dreams we envisioned, becoming the very memory of this place. His life showed us that nothing is impossible — from a farm worker’s child to an entrepreneur, he rose to become a pillar of society.

In my own time with him, he farmed Clairvaux, built the studios, and restored every single house on the estate. His final act was overseeing the renovation of the pool and poolroom — a fitting legacy of care and craftsmanship.

Clairvaux will never be the same without him. We will always remember him walking the farm, and the sight of his old bakkie will forever echo his presence.
