Project Feral Cat Richards Bay
Project Feral Cat was founded for the purpose to TNR (trap, neuter, release) feral cats in our community. As much as the cats are needed to play a role in the eco system, they are multiplying and numbers can become out of control. To simply remove/kill the cats is not the answer, as new feral cats will just move in and the problem is not solved.
With the TNR approach, the colony is stabilized with a healthy cat population which can be very beneficial to corporates as they will keep rodents at bay. The left ear is tipped to show they are sterilized and cats also receive a rabies vaccination and treatment for ticks/fleas. With KZN area being declared a high Rabies risk area, we are doing our part to prevent this disease from spreading.
