Here’s a short summary list of rabbit-friendly herbs and veggies that we grow at home. Most are super easy to grow and very nutritious:
🐇 Comfrey – High in protein and great for occasional feeding. It supports healing.
🐇 Bamboo leaves – Safe and fibrous, ideal for variety.
🐇 Bana grass – A fast-growing forage grass rich in fiber. We grow lots of Bana and Elephant grass!
🐇 Carrot tops – Nutritious and preferred over the root. high in calcium.
🐇 Beet tops – Leafy greens rich in nutrients; feed in moderation.
🐇 Thyme – Aromatic herb with digestive benefits.
🐇 White clover – Nutritious ground cover, high in protein.
🐇 Parsley – Vitamin-rich herb. Excellent in small amounts.
🐇 Strawberry leaves – Gentle astringent and safe for rabbits.
🐇 Nasturtium – Edible flowers and leaves; high in vitamin C.
🐇 Lemon balm – Calming and safe; helps with stress.
🐇 Lemongrass – Aromatic, safe in small quantities.
🐇 Sweet potato vines – Leafy tops are nutritious and fast-growing.
🐇 Basil – Easy to grow and great for digestion.
🐇 Mint – A favorite herb that aids the digestive tract.
🐇 Fennel – Digestive support and mild flavor.
🐇 Radish tops – Leafy greens are great in moderation.
🐇 Radishes – Roots can be fed occasionally; not too much.
🐇 Bok choi – A mild leafy green with good hydration properties. It grows super fast!
🐇 Sunchokes and Sunflowers - feed the leaves and young flowers to the rabbits as a healthy treat.
