Are you afraid of things that go BUMP in the night? Not all bumps are scary, but some definitely are! Bring your pet in to have their lumps and bumps analysed. Most lumps can be treated or removed before they become a problem, but just like in humans, it's important to catch them early.

That's why we are offering a huge discount on lump checks during April and May! Bring your pet for a wellness exam and lump analysis to the value of R851 for ONLY R600. Offer valid until 31 May 2025. Call 012 997 1419 to book!

If even vets can't know whether a lump is dangerous or not just from looking at or feeling it, what do they do during a lump check?

When you bring your pet to have a lump checked, the vet will do general, head to tail exam, checking for other signs and symptoms that could indicate a problem deeper than a visible lump. They will also perform a small procedure called a fine needle aspirate. This involves inserting a sterile needle into the lump - sometimes multiple times - to extract cells from it. The cells are then examined under a microscope.
Sometimes, an FNA can tell the vet exactly what type of lump your pet has, but in some cases, further analysis is needed. The vet will then need to do a biopsy or remove the lump entirely to send away to an external lab.

To book your pet's lump check and take advantage of our current lump special, give us a ring on 012 997 1419.

26 April is World Veterinary day! The theme this year is "Animal Health Takes a Team," highlighting how collaborative veterinary care is. Effective veterinary services often rely on the collective efforts of a range of professionals, including veterinarians, veterinary nurses, technicians, researchers, and other allied health professionals. Let's celebrate our team of veterinary clinicians this weekend for their kind hearts and hard work! Thank you Drs Donet and Anika, as well as Sr Tanya. You rock!

πŸ¦Έβ€β™€οΈ Veterinary Receptionist Appreciation post! 🌟

This week (in support of Veterinary Receptionist week), we want to highlight the incredible team who are often the first voices you hear and the first warm smiles you see when you walk through our doors β€” our amazing receptionists. πŸ’™πŸΎ

They are the heart and soul at the front lines of our hospital β€” answering phones with compassion, calming worried pet parents, guiding clients through everything from food questions to follow-up care, and somehow always knowing just what to say at exactly the right time.

They juggle schedules, answer a million questions a day, offer hugs and tissues when emotions run high, and bring comfort not just to our clients, but to our entire team. Whether it’s a friendly greeting, a reassuring word, or just a calm presence in the middle of a hectic day β€” our receptionists are true superheroes without the capes.πŸ¦Έβ€β™€οΈ

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for all you do. Your kindness, patience, empathy, and endless dedication never go unnoticed. You make this hospital a better place for everyone β€” two-legged and four-legged alike.

Feel free to comment below if you have received good service from our kind receptionists. Let's show them how special they are! πŸ’πŸΆπŸ±πŸ’•
