A proper de-shed makes all the difference! ✨🐾

This little fluff ball came in with a packed undercoat, and after a gentle grooming session, we removed all the loose fur to help keep the coat healthy, lighter, and more comfortable.

Regular brushing and de-shedding appointments help to:
• Reduce shedding around the house
• Prevent matting and knots
• Improve airflow through the coat
• Keep your pup feeling fresh and comfortable

And yes… all that fur came from ONE tiny dog 😅🐶

Our newest little client and still the baby of the family 🐶✨

Umbra is a Dachshund – also known as a “sausage dog” 🌭

🔎 Breed facts:
• Originally bred in Germany to hunt badgers
• Brave, loyal and full of personality
• Known for their long bodies and short legs
• Can be stubborn… but incredibly loving

Because of their long backs, Dachshunds need:
✔️ Weight management (extra weight puts strain on the spine)
✔️ No excessive jumping on/off furniture
✔️ Regular grooming to keep skin healthy

☀️ FIRST SHAVE FOR UMBRA ☀️
Client requested a shorter shave due to the recent heat.

Important to note for dog parents:
We don’t always recommend shaving double-coated breeds — but in certain cases, and depending on coat condition, lifestyle, and owner preference, we adjust accordingly. Grooming is never “one size fits all.”

With Umbra being young and new to the family, keeping him clean, comfortable and easy to maintain is key 💛

Meet Clara 🐾

Clara is a Saint Bernard — one of the world’s most gentle giants. Originally bred in the Swiss Alps for rescue work, these dogs were famous for helping lost travelers in the snow. ❄️

Fun fact: A Saint Bernard’s thick double coat is designed to keep them warm in freezing temperatures — which means it plays a big role in protecting their skin too.

✂️ Why the shave?
We only shave when a coat is severely matted and can’t be safely brushed out. Matting pulls tightly on the skin, causes discomfort, traps moisture, and can even lead to skin infections. In cases like Clara’s, shaving is the most humane and pain-free solution to start fresh.

We always aim to preserve the coat whenever possible — but comfort and health come first. 💛
