Brooklyn Veterinary Clinic is a companion animal veterinary clinic that offers comprehensive care for your dogs and cats as well as provides a supportive and informative environment for clients. The clinic was established in 1989 and since then we pride ourselves in providing the highest level of compassion and care. We offer excellent general practice consultations, surgery and procedures. We hav

e got a full in-house laboratory as well as imaging equipment that includes CR radiology as well as ultrasonography. The Brooklyn Veterinary Clinic team includes:

Dr JD Luyt: Dr John joined in the beginning of 2013 after working in Port Elizabeth for a couple of years. He likes all the aspects of general veterinary science and enjoys anesthetics and surgery. Dr John likes whiskey, rifles, braai and time off. Riana, Kayla and Doniqe: These loud mouths are our friendly front staff that helps with client and patient management and assistance as well as running our shop. Freddy and Prince: Our support staff that ensures that our hospital is always clean and also assist our vets. They will be happy to carry food purchases to your car or help if your pet is not too keen to sit on the consultation table. Our shop offers a wide range of pet accessories, treats and toys. We also stock an extensive range of premium pet food that includes Royal Canin, Hills, Acana, Orijen, Vets Choice, Eukanuba and Vetsbrand.

With the client's permission we would like to share a message from one of our special patients

"Hello !!
My name is Monkey Ge**er
I am a 16 year old yorkie that just wants to love,kiss and cuddle. Everyone gave up on me 😥
My mother did not stop! She never gives up and I knew she never will.
Everyone said I am too old! Time to let me go! A very nasty man one day said he could not come to our house anymore because he can't stand to look at me.

As persistent as my mom is ,we went from doctor to doctor. I had growths all over me.
We spent long nights and long days. I was nauseous ,had pain, lack of oxygen, belly issues . Too old to even to bother with in everyone's eyes.

Today I want to say thank you to Dr John at Brooklyn Veterinary Clinic who was always prepared to give me a 2nd and 3rd chance to live.
Two and half hours of long surgery - he removed the growths.
Now phase 2 looked us in the eyes:
A tumor attached to my salivary gland .
Three hours of surgery removed that cancerous growth and gland.
Not a day went by without Dr John checking on me. Today I am so thankful to be with my sisters and family again.
My mom says I am Brooklyn Vets miracle yorkie!!'
