Brooklyn Veterinary Clinic is a companion animal veterinary clinic that offers comprehensive care for your dogs and cats as well as provides a supportive and informative environment for clients. The clinic was established in 1989 and since then we pride ourselves in providing the highest level of compassion and care. We offer excellent general practice consultations, surgery and procedures. We hav

e got a full in-house laboratory as well as imaging equipment that includes CR radiology as well as ultrasonography. The Brooklyn Veterinary Clinic team includes:

Dr JD Luyt: Dr John joined in the beginning of 2013 after working in Port Elizabeth for a couple of years. He likes all the aspects of general veterinary science and enjoys anesthetics and surgery. Dr John likes whiskey, rifles, braai and time off. Riana, Kayla and Doniqe: These loud mouths are our friendly front staff that helps with client and patient management and assistance as well as running our shop. Freddy and Prince: Our support staff that ensures that our hospital is always clean and also assist our vets. They will be happy to carry food purchases to your car or help if your pet is not too keen to sit on the consultation table. Our shop offers a wide range of pet accessories, treats and toys. We also stock an extensive range of premium pet food that includes Royal Canin, Hills, Acana, Orijen, Vets Choice, Eukanuba and Vetsbrand.

At the end of March we will be saying goodbye to a truly special veterinarian, Dr Simone.

Your compassion for animals, dedication to your patients and kindness toward every client and colleague have left a lasting mark on all of us at Brooklyn Vet. You’ve cared for so many beloved pets and supported their families through both joyful and difficult moments.

While we are very sad to see you leave, we are incredibly grateful for the time we had working alongside you and for everything you brought to the Brooklyn Vet Clinic family.

Meet Dr Hannah Schulz

“Hi there, I am Dr Hannah. I graduated in 2025 and completed my community service year at a welfare clinic in Cape Town, before returning to Pretoria. I have grown up alongside various beloved family pets (including a pot-bellied pig) and always knew I wanted to be a vet. I am really excited to be working with the wonderful team at Brooklyn Vet Clinic, and cannot wait to meet you and your lovely pets.”
