Doornpoort Dierekliniek is run by angels I tell you

We are very grateful to Doornpoort animal clinic for helping us with the pup that needed a eye surgery,The eye was taken out,They pup is playful and wagging his tail,Thank you Dr Davies

Doornpoort animal clinic did the surgery and vaccination absolutely free of charge,We were stressed as to where are we going to get funds for the surgery,We did surgeries, consultations and got slot of animals helped at Doornpoort Dierekliniek and we were offered those services for free,

For a small shelter that really means a lot to us,It would be wonderful if we all support Doornpoort Dierekliniek as they are a Vet practice with a big heart ,The more we support the practice the more they will be able to offer such help to all the strays and injured animals that we take to Doornpoort Dierekliniek,

Update: Injured puppy

We rushed the little puppy to Doornpoort Veterinary Clinic after he was bitten on the eye by his mother. The vet is assessing his injury and we will know soon what treatment he will need.

Sadly cases like this come unexpectedly and our shelter is already stretched thin financially. Vet bills, medication and even the petrol to rush these emergencies cost more than we can currently manage, but we simply cannot turn an animal in need away.

If you would like to help us cover the vet bill and petrol costs for any donation big or small, will make a difference.

This morning one of our neighbors from the plots reached out to us with a heartbreaking situation. They surrendered both their mother dog and her puppy after the mother accidentally bit the puppy on his eye.

The family could not afford vet care so they made the difficult decision to hand them over to us. We are rushing the little one to the vet right now to get urgent treatment and we will share an update as soon as we have feedback from the vet.

Please keep this pup in your thoughts today as we hope for the best outcome.

Yesterday we received a call about a Yorkie that was found wandering the streets weak, vomiting, and suffering from a painful eye infection. We thank the kind soul who picked him up and called us to.

This morning we took the little fur baby to Temba Animal Clinic, where the vet confirmed he has a fever and an eye infection. He has been given medication and was prescribed Chloramex for his eyes. We are hopeful he’ll start feeling better soon with proper care and rest.

We sincerely apologize for not sharing this rescue yesterday we currently don’t have a full-time admin, but we are doing our best to keep everyone updated while handling rescues on the ground.

Day 1 of Monkey rescue

🔴 Heartbreaking Case in Cullinan – Monkey with No Arms 💔

Today we travelled over 60km to an undisclosed location to attend to a heartbreaking case a monkey spotted with no arms. It is believed that this poor animal may have had its limbs deliberately chopped off, possibly for muthi (traditional medicine) purposes. We managed to spot a troop of monkeys, but sadly, the injured one was not among them. We tried to set up a trap, but without locating the specific monkey we couldn’t proceed today.

We spent hours trying to locate and trap the monkey, but unfortunately we were not able to spot it today. We are not giving up we will be back tomorrow to continue the search and hopefully rescue this innocent soul before it’s too late.

As Soshanguve Animal Shelter we are overwhelmed not only by the cruelty we witness, but also by the financial strain we face every day. Petrol, vet care, and food all cost money and we rely solely on kind donations and community support.

Even without the resources, we push forward because the animals cannot speak for themselves. We go the distance literally to rescue, rehabilitate, and fight for every life we can.

The rescued fur baby has been safely handed over to Border Collie Rescue South Africa for further care and rehoming. Thank you again to everyone who helped make this possible

From Street to Safety – Another Rescue Complete

We are happy to share that the border collie spotted in the Hermanstad/Hercules area has been successfully trapped and is now safe with us at the Soshanguve Animal Shelter.

This rescue would not have been possible without the incredible help of Juanita, Thomas, and Katlego thank you for your time, patience, and dedication in helping us catch this very nervous fur baby. Your kindness made all the difference

The dog had been frequenting the area for over two weeks but was extremely fearful and would run if anyone got too close. We know many people tried to help and shared the post far and wide thank you so much for your efforts and compassion.

If you recognize this dog or believe he may be yours, please reach out to us directly as soon as possible.
