What do Pugs, Persian cats, Boston Terriers, the Pekingese and Bulldog have in common?

Brachycephalic is a very big word used to describe animal breeds in which the head and muzzle is dramatically shortened with genetics.

This provides for extremely cute animals with one massive drawback:

They struggle to breathe!

This is due to the fact that there are large amounts of soft tissue, with no place to put it, causing obstruction of the throat and nostrils.

Meet my FeLV+ kittens🐈

Ngala - Lion🦁
Ingwe - Leopard🐆

Ngala and Ingwe are rescue kittens from a sterilisation day that tested positive for Feline Leukemia Virus a few weeks later.

FeLV is transmitted by grooming and ultimately weakens the immune system, making infected animals more susceptible to secondary infections.

Despite the fact that the expected lifespan of our babies are not very long, we decided to make the limited time they have, the absolute BEST😻

Their first spots only start appearing after a week🐣

Croconoster🦮

Coco is a 9 year old Miniature Dachshund and she is my little baby!

Coco was recently admitted to the Animal Clinic due to severe constipation. On x-ray examination it became apparent that her intestines were severely impacted with nothing else than, chicken bones. After a few days, a large vet bill and a lot of tears, she was discharged and able to head back home.

For anyone who likes to say “one bone won’t kill the dog”, it just might!

I had the privilege of taking care of this gorgeous boy, Dexter, over the Christmas period🦮

He is a 13 year old Staffie x Labrador Retriever Rescue with the sweetest personality!

Labrador Retrievers, as many other large (and some small) breed dogs, struggle with hereditary hip dysplasia which requires special dietary and exercise regimes.

My name is Bee and I am a 5th year Veterinary Science student. I am very passionate about all your furry (or not so furry) friends and would love to look after them while you attend a work trip or enjoy a well deserved getaway.

I have looked after many babies over the past few years and my studies will come in handy in giving your four legged kids the best love and care they want and need.
