Good morning everyone, we trust you and your Little Paws are doing well. We have been super busy between all the rescues however we have really been taking the time to focus on the two Guinea pigs whom have come into our care suddenly without a cage. Willow (the female) was pregnant and yesterday afternoon she had her babies however apon further inspection all four babies were still borns. We have no idea what happened unfortunately however after some much needed pampering, Willow girl is now doing great. Rosco whom is her partner in crime has really started coming out of his shell. Both Willow and Rosco have started to come sit on my lap whenever they want scratches and Rosco adores it when he gets some head scratches whilst Willow loves tummy tickles. We had potential adopters for these two piggies and while they were willing to pay for Rosco to get neutered, unfortunately plans fell through after the family got some bad news. Rosco and Willow are a lovely pair of angels to have, they can be quite vocal but they thrive on treats and some extra love. While Willow loves to be pampered and treated like a baby, Rosco prefers to hang back and relax a bit. Rosco is a little more shy than Willow but Willow helps Rosco overcome any potential fears. These two little piggies must be adopted out together and Rosco must be neutered before leaving the rescue. If there are any other plans on having more piggies or you potentially already have piggies then both Willow and Rosco will need to be sterilized and neutered. We will be posting some photos of them soon!
On another note, the three gorgeous female rats that unexpectedly came into our care are starting to come out of their shell aswell. Whilst they are still a bit shy, it seems as long as you have treats ready then you may just be their new best friend/s. They now go by the names of Holly, Lucy and Zara. All three girls have their own unique personalities however they do not disappoint. Holly is a gorgeous yet shy girl, she will gladly come up to your hands and give you a smell. She loves taking treats and it seems that if you really put the effort in, she will even do some tricks as long as she gets that treat🐭. She is a rather active girl and loves her sisters company but she can definitely wander around away from her sister's for a quick five minutes. Lucy on the other hand is a lot more shy but she definitely doesn't mind for treats, she's also a well known weirdo because everytime their water bowl gets filled, she seems to have to dunk her head under the water for a little bath😂. She really does enjoy company but she will need some extra time to get used to her new servants😅. Zara on the other hand, once she gains your trust there is absolutely no going back, she can be a bit sceptical around new people but she definitely doesn't mind flopping over for some belly scratches once she trusts you. Yet again she is a foodie, similar to her sister's she will gladly love you as long as there's some treats involved. All three girls must be adopted out together as they're a bonded pair and stress out when apart for too long. Having all three girls right by your side may sound like a lot however it's the best decision you'll ever make. These girls need a retirement home, judging off the way they look and act. They are already around two years of age so they definitely just want some servants to feed them treats and give them tons of free roaming time. Photos of them will be posted shortly!
Now to get to some other topics, we are asking everyone whom can help us out. If you have any cages that you're no longer using or any accessories and items, we ask you to please help our Little Paws. These babies have already had a sad background however we make it much better for them. Especially since they have such a short life, these babies should be experiencing how amazing their lives can actually be. A single R20 may not sound like much but if we can get 10 people to donate a R20 then we can start buying them some accessories and food. All their basic needs. If we get some people to donate a R20 we may even have enough to buy a second hand cage that's better for the rescues. If we get enough people to donate a R20 we may even be able to buy some hammocks for the Little Paws. So if you have anything to help, please do consider helping these Little Paws. We are willing to send bank details on request aswell as show everyone where the donation money goes. We thank those whom have helped us thus far and we trust that our Little Paws community will help us!
We hope everyone has a great day and we hope everyone's Little Paws gets some Extra treats from Holly, Lucy and Zara 🐭.
