Have you ever wondred 🤔why petshops keep telling you not to touch the fish tanks and or put your hands in the water.....

Maybe even thought we were rude....🫨

Well there is a simple explanation for that and we are not rude we simply care about our scaly friends.

There are a few important reasons — both for the fish’s health and the safety of the tank:

1. It stresses the fish😵‍💫

Fish are very sensitive to vibrations. Tapping the glass is like having a loud drum banged right next to your ear — it can scare them badly.

Stress lowers their immune system, making them more likely to get sick.

2. It can harm their environment🐠

Sudden noises and movements can make fish panic and injure themselves by bumping into rocks or glass.

3. Sticking hands in the water introduces problems

Oils, soap, lotion, or perfume from skin can pollute the water and harm fish.👁️‍🗨️

Bacteria from your skin can disrupt the tank’s delicate ecosystem.

If you’ve handled another tank or animal, you could unintentionally spread diseases or parasites.

4. Safety for you, too

Some fish can nip, sting, or carry bacteria that can cause skin infections.

In short:
No tapping = calm fish.
No hands in water = clean, healthy home for them.
