Quintin, your words stayed with me all these years: dogs can think-and you set out to prove it Istill remember how you demonstrated this with Leo during protection work.

When there was not enough pressure. Leo ignored the attacking arm. The moment the whip was turned and the picture changed, Leo made a conscious decision and engaged. That lesson never left me
I believed you then, and many moons later, I can now show living proof of your words without any doubt.

When Marizanne Kemp Ferreira and Ellie-Mae a rescued pitbull puppy, began training with us the journey was not an easy one.

Allowing a young dog the freedom to develop, to think, and to make her own good choi es requires trust, patience, and courage.

All credit goes to Marizanne for staying committed, especially on the difficult days, and for learning to step back when patience was tested.

Today Marizanne has a 12 month old rescued pit bull who clearly understands how to approach different animals and humans according to their age, need, and vulnerability.

We saw the beginnings of this awareness in Ellie-Mae as early as 4 months old, and after this week's training sessions there is no doubt anymore.

For the non-believers: Ellie-Mae is not afraid of crutches. She reads the situation adjusts her behavior and responds accordingly.

This was done without any harmful actions like a prong or shock collar.

Thank you Marizanne and Ellie-Mae, for believing in our training methods, for trusting the process, and for allowing Ellie-Mae the space to make mistakes and good decisions.

We are so proud of Ellie-Mae and Marizanne Kemp Ferreira that they completed their KUSA puppy CGC test on the 16th November!

This all started with Kragga Kamma Zen Dog Park where we first started the puppy lessons,

Thank you Baakens Valley Dog School for allowing Marizanne and Ellie-Mae to take place.
