SPCA PROTOCOL FOR ADOPTIONS

Hulk, our stunning Rottweiler was surrended to the SPCA on the 7/3/ 25 and is available for adoption.

Hulk attracted a lot of attention on FaceBook. Unfortunately, these overtures were not successful.

Adoption protocols are in place to benefit the animal. Do not come to the SPCA and expect to adopt a dog or cat by merely observing them through the fence and pointing to a particular animal or identifying an animal seen on Facebook.

The Following Process must be followed:

1. Once you have identified the animal you are interested in adopting. You will have to engage with the animal, this means going into the cattery or the exercise run with the dog. We need to assess the interaction between you and the animal.

2. Should you decide that it is the animal for you. We recommend that the rest of the family come to the SPCA, including any other dogs which you may have. This is to ensure compatibility.

3. Once these formalities have been attended to. You will need to fill in the Application to Adopt the animal.

4. It is your responsibility to be truthful. Veterinary history is vitally important, especially if you already have pets. The SPCA clinic is subsidised to assist indigent members of the community. Therefore any person adopting from the SPCA must be able to afford the services of a private Vet, you cannot use the SPCA clinic.

5. Once the application has been approved, your property will be inspected to ensure that it is suitable to house the animal. A R100 non refundable fee is charged to conduct the property inspection.

In a nutshell these protocols must be adhered to; to ensure the successful addition of a new pet into your family.

Back to Hulk, he is gentle, affectionate, walks well on a lead, sits for treats (which he loves), does not have issues with other dogs of both sexes. Hulk would make an amazing family pet and we are confident that the right home is waiting for him. Help us find Hulk his forever home.

The Wagging Tails Clothing Shop has clothing for the whole family, linen, accessories and...Wedding Dresses! (Open from 9am to 12pm)

The Furniture Store doubles as another "This and That" shop with deals galore on a variety of goodies! (Open 9am to 2pm) NEW PET CORNER - Toys and other pet accessories available while stock lasts 🐾 There is also an assortment of kiddies party accessories!

We have bookings for this date and we ask that the public take cognisance of the fact that the Vet can only assist us 2 Saturdays a month.
