Our 2026 hunting season will be coming to an end over the next few weeks.

A kind request to everyone who received a trophy at our 2025 Closing Hunt Function: please return your trophy to us as soon as possible so that we can have it engraved and ready for our 2026 Closing Function on 27 September 2026.

Trophies can be handed to Dr Allin or any Cape Hunt Club committee member.

Please also let me know which trophy you have returned, so that I can keep track of the trophies received and identify which ones are still outstanding.

Your cooperation is greatly appreciated and will help us ensure that everything is ready for the Closing Function.

Due to insufficient entries, the Cape Hunt Club Hunter Trials, originally scheduled for this Sunday, have unfortunately been postponed.

📅 NEW DATE: Sunday, 4 October 2026

We apologise for any inconvenience and hope the new date will allow more riders to join us for a fantastic day of Hunter Trials! 🐎🐶

The Hunter Trials combines the excitement of cross-country with the fun of friendly competition.

This is NOT a hunt. This is a fun cross-country event where you can enter individually or in teams of 2 or 3. If you or your horse, needs a little confidence booster, this will be a golden opportunity for you, as you could have a lead rider with!

Ride as close as possible to the optimum time—without a stopwatch! Accuracy, rhythm and horsemanship are rewarded.

⭐ Qualified Hunter (70cm)
Open to riders and horses who have attended at least **5 Cape Hunt Club hunts** this season (or by invitation of the Master). Riders must be paid-up Cape Hunt Club members.

🎉 Stay after your round for the Prize Giving Ceremony and celebrate with fellow riders.
