SCAM ALERT !!!!! - PLEASE BE CAREFUL !!
Hi there I think I have just been scammed.
I paid for a puppy from a lady who had registration numbers etc and was charging R3000 for a puppy. She sent e-mails, photo’s and copies of her ID and phoned and spoke to me personally.
I said I was not prepared to pay the full amount including transport with no surety, so she agreed the transport money could be paid COD. She made me fill out forms describing our home and lifestyle before saying I was “eligible” to own one of her 8 puppies (all with photographs and names).
Then she said the vet was sick so could not do the final health certificate but when I spoke to her she said she would get hold of him today and the puppies would be couriered by lunch time. Then we got a phone call from the courier saying we need to rent a special crate because of the hot conditions and it would cost R5300 of which R4800 was refundable , they also sent an invoice via e-mail. When I phoned the lady she asked if I could at least pay half towards the crate but when I refused she said she would try and organise (all speaking directly to me)
That is the last I have heard from her!
We have googled the courier company and come up with a blank. My son-in-law has reported them to the Nedbank fraud department.
I have tried to find the original advert with her name, e-mail and all the registration numbers and cannot find anything so have to assume she has somehow deleted everything. She was not through OLX or gum tree.
I am not in any way wanting to involve you but would like you to be aware of this unscrupulous fraudster.
