Fun Pet Facts: Rats make excellent pets! 🐀

🐾 Domestic rats make wonderful, affectionate, and clean pets. They are intelligent, playful, can learn tricks and come when they are called. They groom themselves often and can learn to use a litter box. They love to cuddle and be tickled; they sit on your shoulder and enjoy interacting with people. They also like being with other rats and need at least one “friend” to spend time with. 🐀❤️

If you are considering a rat as a pet, just remember that they have short life spans (2-3 years) like many smaller rodent pets. They can develop certain health problems and also need daily playtime outside their cage.

For many pet owners, saying goodbye is so difficult, but finding small natural ways to grieve can help.

ROC (Return of Compost) is EarthPet's unique alternative to the traditional return of ashes. Through our eco-friendly Bio-Burial process, your pet naturally returns to the earth. Sustainable Transport ♻️🌱

At EarthPet everything we do is for the love of animals but also love for the planet. 🌍Our Bio-Burial is (to our knowledge) the most eco-friendly way of laying animal remains to rest, but we also follow green practices in a variety of other ways, like our transport.

🚗Sustainable Transport: We now have two fully electric vehicles operating within our business. Earthpet Vet does daily roundtrips with our economic electric vehicles, reducing our carbon footprint. Where hybrid vehicles remain the most practical option, they are supported by biodiesel produced on site from recycled used cooking oil by our sister company Greenswitch Hubs.

We continue to find and explore new ways of running our business in the most sustainable way possible! More updates coming soon…
