The Bio-Chamber is a specially designed container where nature is given a helping hand. We use wood chips and natural components to speed up the composting process, ensuring your pet’s remains return to the earth cleanly and respectfully.

Fun Pet Facts: Cats can rotate their ears 180 degrees

Did you know that cats can rotate their ears 180 degrees? 🐱 Each ear has 32 muscles, allowing them to swivel and pick up even the tiniest sounds. Cats can hear sounds at frequencies up to 65 kHz, far better than human hearing, which only detects up to around 20 kHz.

The position of their ears also indicates their emotional state, for example curiosity or fear.

This unique structure and functionality of cat ears make cats highly effective hunters, who are very aware of their environment.

Fun Pet Facts: Guinea pigs do “rumble strutting” and “popcorning”

Guinea Pigs 🐹have the cutest words for their movements:

They sometimes make a swaying motion accompanied by rumbles or purrs to sound more intimidating. This is called “rumble strutting” and is usually seen in males during mating season.

A happy or excited guinea pig will sometimes jump straight up and down – a movement called “popcorning.” 🍱This is most common in young guinea pigs.

At Earthpet we aim to reduce our carbon footprint as much as we can, using solar for the bulk of the operations on our farm and also utilising bio-diesel for fuel and we aim to be paperless as far as we can. Greener travel is one of our sustainability goals.
