Youth Day.
As we reflect on youth day, our sole mission is working the Soil through nature friendly practices. Young people are gradually joining this field of Agroecology and the few who have tasted it's fruits will be an inspiration to many out there.
As the old guard hang their boots and pass the button to the youth all systems should be in place and ready to absorb them.

Heirloom tomatoes are open-pollinated, meaning they're pollinated by natural means like bees and butterflies. This allows them to retain their unique genetic traits. Regular tomato varieties.

They are always resistant to most pest and diseases unlike the usual varieties.
They got a long shelf life
They can be harvested green and left to ripen in the pack house or kitchen window
They are resilient to dry conditions and weather.
After harvesting their seeds can be saved and replanted in the coming season.

Try them this Spring.

Free range chicken have been known for their sweet and delicious meat due to the diverse variety of food and greens they eat unlike the battery caged chicken. Their eggs have dark yellow York unlike the battery caged chicken and the taste of their eggs is out of this world.
There are many breeds one can keep ranging from Boschvelders, White Sussex, Orpington, New Hampshire, Rhode Island red, bantams, leghorn, Australops, Plymouth and Brahma among others.
Most of them are dual purpose for both meat and eggs.
Choose your breeding stock wisely and give them maximum care.
