On 17 August, the Excellerate K9 team joined forces with the Provincial Drugs and Firearm Unit for an operation at a hotel building in Merebank.

What followed was a serious find. ๐Ÿ‘€

๐Ÿšจ 600 pieces of rock co***ne recovered
๐Ÿ’ฐ Estimated drug value: R30,000
๐Ÿ”ซ 14 live rounds of ammunition recovered

The exhibits were secured and handed over to SAPS in accordance with evidence procedures.

EXCELLERATE SECURITY OPERATIONAL SUCCESS

Location: Merebank, Durban
Date: 17 August 2026

A joint operation conducted by the SAPS Provincial Drugs and Fi****ms Unit, with the assistance of the Excellerate Security K9 Unit, has resulted in the seizure of narcotics and ammunition during a targeted search in the Merebank area.

Members executed a search at a hotel building identified during ongoing investigations, resulting in the successful recovery of illegal narcotics and live ammunition.

The operation resulted in the following recoveries:

โ€ข 600 pieces of Rock Co***ne
โ€ข 14 rounds of live ammunition

The estimated street value of the recovered drugs is approximately R30,000.

All recovered exhibits were sealed and booked into Wentworth SAPS as evidence for further investigation.
