🎄 A Night of Carols, Community & Giving 🎄

Last Saturday, the Van Buuren family proudly hosted the second annual Carols on the Ranch at Blue Saddle Ranches, in support of the Highveld horse care unit.
As an equestrian estate, this cause is close to many hearts, supporting the rescue and care of horses and donkeys that have suffered neglect and abuse.

Residents of Blue Saddle Ranches and loyal supporters from Adelicious, Just Frosted, Bev’s Kitchen and Pick n Pay Sasolburg came together for a festive evening filled with music, lights, laughter and community spirit. Father Christmas arrived in true ranch style in Bugsie the Christmas Beetle, delighting the children, while vendors sold out of festive treats.

Thanks to everyone’s generosity, R5 000 was raised and handed over to the Highveld Horse Care Unit earlier today.

As the lights came on, the tree lit up and carols filled the air, we were reminded of the true meaning of the season — kindness, community and giving back. 💫

At Blue Saddle Ranches, giving back is who we are. This year, we once again had the privilege of hosting the It's Not About Me (INAM) Christmas Party at the clubhouse, welcoming children from House Trentico, House Villa Lubet, and House Deo Gratia for a day filled with joy, treats, gifts, and pure Christmas magic. ✨

A heartfelt thank you to every sponsor, volunteer, and “secret elf” who contributed food, drinks, snacks, gift boxes, time, love, and laughter. Your kindness made this day unforgettable. ❤️

🐾 The Story of a Purebred Pekinese
A lesson in kindness, responsibility, and hope.
Sometimes, a single story reminds us why compassion still matters.

Recently, a well-loved purebred Pekinese was given away by ex Blue Saddle Ranches owners, unsterilised and frightened, to an employee living on Piel’s Farm “because they were moving.”

Like so many before her, she suddenly found herself chained, confused, and terrified. A dog who once knew love, a warm bed, and gentle hands now faced noise, fear, and neglect.

But this time, something changed.

Word spread quickly through the community, and a few like-minded people refused to look away.
Calls were made, help was organised, and hearts opened. Through teamwork and the tireless dedication of Rainbow Nation Animals, this little Pekinese was safely removed from Piel’s Farm.

⛓️ The chains are off.
She has been rehomed to a loving family, safe and cherished once again — exactly as every pet deserves.

🦸‍♂️To the new family, you are heroes. You have not only saved a life but reminded us that compassion isn’t about convenience — it’s about courage.

To Rainbow Nation Animals team, thank you for stepping in when others turned away, for working tirelessly day and night to rescue and rehabilitate the voiceless.

And to the many Blue Saddle Ranches residents who offered help, homes, or simply words of support — thank you. It takes a community to create change.

Please, let this story be more than a happy ending, let it be a wake-up call.
If you cannot keep your animal, reach out responsibly. There are rescue groups, SPCAs, and kind people ready to help.

No animal deserves to be abandoned or chained because life got inconvenient.
Let’s continue to stand together — for the animals, for kindness, for what’s right. 💛

Sometimes words aren’t enough to describe the power of community — but R50 000 says it all.

Over the past few weeks, our incredible BSR residents opened their hearts (and their wallets) to support Kye’s Hope for Cancer.
What started as a small local drive turned into something truly beautiful — neighbours coming together, businesses reaching out, and compassion overflowing.

On Friday, we proudly handed over a cheque for R46 000, collected right here in our community. Every single rand represents love, hope, and faith in Kye’s journey.
