Does your sharpener de-magnitize your blades thoroughly after sharpening them? Ask them... yes its important, otherwise I wouldn't waste my time doing it...
It lengthens the time required between sharpenings. if its not done your blades become magnetized after running them on the plate to sharpen and then they pick up bits of fine steel dust and particles which cause your blades to dull much more quickly. And then they require more sharpening more regularly (costing you more money) and that in turn reduces the length of the life if your blade (even more costly to you)...

So if you all are wondering why your scissors are not cutting at the tips... it could be a few things but today for these scissors it was because there was so much masking tape wrapped around the rings that it actually prevented the tips from even meeting.

If they don't meet they never going to cut...
Also they had become so clogged up with hair and muck that they were just awful to work with.
Yuck 🤮
So I removed all the tape, cleaned the up and installed, and glued in, some pretty ring inserts(see the last picture)
Now, they're functional, cutting clean all the way to the tip AND pretty too.

Cos when you send your grooming tools to Super Sharp we do the job right.

To all groomers and parlour managers and parlour owners...
please, please, please... do not let this happen to your blades.
Reputable blades are made of stainless steel... this is an Oster no 10... for it to get like this takes a long time, probably left in water or at least damp. Also, it was probably not cleaned in the correct type of cleaning liquid and nor was it ever oiled either when stored.

While I was able to clean up this blade, the damage to the steel from the rust was so bad that this blade would not cut... this is now nothing more than a R795 paper weight.

So, to all the vets and vet surgeries out there...

When you get your blades sharpened you need to ask your sharpener do they hone the teeth tips after sharpening... cos if they don't, and I'm referring here to no 40 and no 50 blades then they can become very sharp over time and this will result in painful scratches to your patient... and that's just not nice.

Here at Super Sharp we hone them once sharpened and tested, then demagnitize too...
