Inbetween the Crazy Days of De-Icing Water Throughs, Dress & Un******ng jiggery Horses according to the Mercury , Managing Temper Tantrums between Herdmates that were Soul-buddies JUST Yesterday...🙄 &
developing Bruce Lee-like Dodging Skills for Flying Hooves during The Great 6AM Zoom....🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️

There was...This Day.

Gentle Sunshine.

A light Bout of Rain.

A Wiley Herd of Free Horses & Donks bathed in Rays of Golden Sunrise.

Grazing Peacefully on Their Land...with The First Rainbow at Our New Home - faintly at their backs. 🌈⛅

And of course....Looking at us like..." WHAAAAT?? US....??!!🙄🥺😂😂🦄

You see....

When You Put Good out into he World...there's Always Someone with Their Eye on your Coffee Machine...☕☕🫡

Conditioning....is Everything.

Isn't it....??

How we Look at What we See...

The Inner Dialogue that justfies the Action.

( which in the Equine Industry...comes with a Comfy Price Tag) 🙄

" Horses enjoy running."

" It's okay to ride a horse with incomplete biological development."

" Rotational Ownership is Rescue."

" Price increases with Schooling."

Somehow....the very Real physiological and emotional Needs of a Social Herd Animal...gets Lost in Translation between Humans - Rescue or Not - essentially vying for Money.

Our Wiley Herd have since Adjusted their Feed Schedule ( to include Loooots of Cold Weather Play too...🤷‍♀️🙄😂)

She was Hugely Loved before she joined us.

She was Hugely Loved every minute - that We were privileged enough to Share a Part of her Journey.

She Ended her Journey on the Softest, Greenest patch of Grass at The Sanctuary...surrounded by her Herd. 😭😭💔

..didn't appear Hard for Them - At All!!

I was having a virtual cuppa with Dear Friend ( who looooves to travel) this Week...& he asked me when last I had been on Holiday...??!!🌴🥥🌊

WITH a Happy Ending!

This, maybe 10 year Old - virtually Totally Blind Boerperd gelding ( the black & white Chunky Boy in the first few clips) joined The Sanctuary some months ago.

He was rescued by a Kind Soul from a game farm in Mpumalanga - where he had been walking - horse alone - with a herd of Buffalo & a severe injury.😥

His wound was nursed back to Health...but his new paddockmates...were not keen on him.💔

It was a tumultuous Time at The Sanctuary.

We had not yet Found our Forever Home.

We were Utterly Miserable where we were...

BUT

We knew, Somehow...

His Forever - would Start with Us.

And it Did! 🥰🥰

He has TWO dedicated Companions - Golden Girls Zellie ( OTTB) & Galaxy ( Nooitgedachter x pony) - who are His Eyes.❤️❤️❤️

Responds when He Calls.

Never leaves His Side. ❤️❤️

The rest of our Wiley Herd...just lets him be.

His Forever - Looks like Fresh Graze after the Rain...

Being in his Own Little Herd inside a Big Herd...

and

People...who just couldn't Stop Kissing Him if We Tried. ❤️❤️❤️

His Name...is Cruise.

I've just Come in from some Primo Love Time with the Horses.😁😍♥️♥️

Our New Home is just SO rigged for Close Contact...that Hours vanish...Just Like That...🧐😶‍🌫️

Keeping an Eye on our 600kg Ballerina's...is Infinitely Easier! ♥️😍

During the Craziness of The Big Move, we managed to fit in Joining a Very Special Soul to the Sanctuary.🦄

Two days, a Good Couple of Hours loading, a Few 100 km's & a Horsebox Switch later - 11 year old OTTB Boy, Odi - set Hoof at his New Home.😍

This Gentle, Sweet Boy....stole my Heart right out of my Chest..without batting an eyelid! 😍😍♥️♥️

Odels...like SO many of his ex-Race mates - suffers from severe case of Dorsal Spinous Process Impingement - Kissing Spine. 😞😞

Pain Management will be a Lifetime protocol.

AND

A Lifetime of Autonomy.

Love.

Freedom.

Out of Tune Singing & being Faffed with.♥️♥️😍😍🦄
