This is one special dog, and his show career has been nothing short of spectacular.
Mickey finished his AKC Championship in record style, completing it in just 11 consecutive days of shows with back-to-back Specialty majors. His very first weekend out as a Special, he went Select Dog over multiple ranked Specials, instantly proving he belongs at the very top. He quickly earned 7 points toward his Grand Championship, including all of his required defeats, and topped it off by winning an Award of Merit at the last Specialty he attended.
And now… the moment we’ve all been waiting for! 🎉
On January 30, 2026, at the Danville Illinois Kennel Club Show in Indianapolis, Indiana, under Judge Ms. Nancy Simmons, Mickey won Select Dog for a 4-point major, officially finishing his Grand Championship (pending AKC approval). What a way to close this chapter!
This incredible final win was expertly handled by Carrie Klaiber and immaculately groomed and prepared by his breeder & co-owner, Jillayne Parnell. Mickey is also co-bred and co-owned by Suzanne Mayborne.
