Last night, a tiny soul joined our family at the Gorgo Geckos Leopard Gecko Rehab Center. Meet J19. His story is one of twists and turns we may never fully know, but what we do know is that the past six+ months have been filled with hardship, neglect, and mistreatment.
When J19 arrived, he was weak and underweight, his little toes and vent trapped under months of stuck shed and loose sand like substrate.
He was so dehydrated that every blink looked heavy with exhaustion, and his left eye — clouded and milky — tells of struggles he could not share. Housed on unsafe loose substrate, his shedding became a painful prison instead of a natural process.
But last night, J19’s story took a turn. He is safe now. With gentle hands and patient care, we will do everything we can to help him heal, grow strong, and rediscover what it means to thrive. His journey ahead will be one of hope, healing, and second chances. 🦎💛
⚠️ A gentle caution for all animal lovers: Leopard Geckos are not like cats or dogs. They have unique needs and require special husbandry, care, and maintenance to stay healthy. Please — never buy, adopt, or “rescue” a leopard gecko without proper research.
Good intentions are not enough; knowledge is what keeps them safe.
For J19, the road may be long, but here at Gorgo Geckos Leopard Gecko Rehab Center, he finally has the chance every little life deserves — a chance to be loved, understood, and cared for properly. 🌿Follow His Story on
