Deceased: 19 October 2020

We were privileged to have Henry for most of his life, he was born unexpectedly and early to Mandolin , his truly wonderful mum,
all alone on the night of 11th, at our farm one of the very few that I wasnt at his birth, in retrospect that should have warned us about him .He had stints away with Adri Swanepoel at her tiny tots yard and also time with Claire Marshal ....... just visiting and too make her laugh.
Henry was known by many and adored by all,
Henry like most height deprived people was never bothered and was unencumbered by any feelings of inadequacy, he went about his business at Outeniqua Miniature Stud purposely enjoying himself , if you were the main stud or the most important visitor it mattered little to him.
He enriched ours and many other lives, he was brave, funny, opinionated , enchanting and for a little person will leave a massive hole in ours and many other lives.
and for the first time in years i will sadly be able to finish my afternoon honey tea,

A brave little man

Day 1 of Lockdown 1,
cant believe that this is the month I start with baking Xmas cakes, holy cow , did we have easter? where has the year gone?
Lockdown at Rooi Dam was not very different from normal life except i developed a relationship with my iron and hoover, had a severe case of pizza deprivement andfound that woollies have some delicious ready meals,
The most distressing thing has been the" no hugs" and now that we,re coming into spring hugging a horse can lead to a serious case of fur ball,
seen a lot of our vet recently, Henry tore his eye lid , so badly the lid hanging on the tiniest bit of flesh that still had its eye lashes attached , fortunately his eye wasnt damaged and he was his usual brave little self , then sadly we had to euthanize Mandy last week,

havent been on face book for ages and all has changed have no idea where or what to do

3 years to the week of those devastating fires and the wind these last couple of days have been fearsome, promised huge rains and nothing except cold 1\2 a mi .....bedding! my goodness do I need bedding all wretched factories closed so shavings like gold and dare not use hay as long winter ahead. Our dear Henry is battling with the cold tho got very cheeky when he had his feet done so still spunky , Juan tweeks his feet every 3 weeks or so to keep them kinda normal and comfy. Tiny in size but huge in opinion and character, totally adorable. stay safe and warm everyone

when will we see our dams like this again? either covid or weather!

looking through photos it would appear that all we do is sit around eating and drinking and being pestered by quizzy horses, cant think of a better way to spend time. BUT I do miss hugs, Nick doing his best ...... my ginger beer is AMAZING and really beginning to like misty windows and think silver looks very authentic tarnished.
