🚜 Arena Maintenance: One Tractor, One Toddler, One Dachshund… What Could Possibly Go Wrong? 👦🐾

This morning’s arena duty came with a full crew:
✔️ Me (trying to get the job done)
✔️ My 5-year-old (confidently “navigating”)
✔️ Our dachshund (riding shotgun like he owns the place)

There we were — three deep on the tractor — levelling the arena like pros… if pros paused every 30 seconds to discuss where the “fast button” was or who gets to hoot the horn 🙈

The arena got done (eventually).
The crew got snacks.
And I got a whole lot of laughs — and maybe a few new grey hairs.

Nothing says weekend luxury like a 7AM frosty arena and a horse who’s convinced the crunching ground is a portal to another dimension 😳❄️

Cue the snorts, the prancing, and the look of utter betrayal as we dare to work at sunrise.


🧊 Who else’s horse forgets how to horse when the arena sparkles like a snow globe?

No pic for reference but very happy with Valkyrie who managed not to misbehave today at KPC bringing home a new personal best score at the higher level with 79,44% on test 1 and good enough for a 1st and 2nd place. Very thankful to Nicole Smith for helping me and coaching us. Thank you Angie Meredith for a fantastic show and to Kyalami Park Equestrian for a well run show and venue.
