TIN PAN ALLEY (The United States -The Entertainer)

Bought off the 2024 August Two Year Old Sale, Tin Pan Alley showed plenty of promise as a two-year-old last season. After making an impressive, winning debut over 1200m, the progressive Tin Pan Alley followed up two fourth place efforts with a visually impressive, five and a quarter length triumph at Turffontein. He confirmed his status as one of South Africa’s most promising prospects when he ran third in the G2 Omoda Golden Horseshoe (beaten just over a length and a half) and runner up in the G1 World Pool Moment Of The Day Premiers Champion Stakes.

A new theme, Jozi Rising, was announced for the 2025 Betway Summer Cup on Tuesday.

The Tarry yard will be looking to continue their wonderful record in the Summer Cup this year. The stable has saddled all of Aslan, Liege, Tilbury Fort, Zillzaal, and Flying Carpet to win Gauteng’s showpiece race.

Bloodstock South Africa August 2YO Sale Spotlight

MRS BROWNING (Rafeef -Miss Galidora)

The regally bred daughter of Rafeef (himself a son of the former Tarry yard stable star, National Colour) was bought off the 2021 August Sale. Since joining the Tarry stable, the classy and speedy Mrs Browning has won six times including the 2023 G3 Joburg Tourism Carry On Alice Stakes and 2024 G2 TAB Camellia Stakes.

Mrs Browning also put up a mighty effort when finishing second, beaten just a neck, in the 2024 G1 South African Fillies Sprint (a race won previously by Rafeef’s dam National Colour). On that occasion, Mrs Browning finished ahead of the likes of graded stakes winners Shantastic, Gimme A Shot, and One Fell Swoop among others.
She would go on to show her class when finishing runner up in the 2025 G2 TAB Senor Santa Stakes and third, behind stablemate Mia Moo, in the 2025 G1 South African Fillies Sprint.

LET’S GO NOW (Gimmethegreenlight - Star Express)

A full-sister to the Tarry yard’s former champion Bless My Stars, Let’s Go Now was a purchase from the 2022 August Sale. Winner of two of four starts at two; Let’s Go Now showed high-class form at three.

After finishing third in both the G3 HSH Princess Charlene Starling Stakes and G3 Betway Fillies Mile (when beaten by the brilliant Gimme A Nother), Let’s Go Now went on to win the G3 Mother Russia Stakes and finish third in the G1 Wilgerbosdrift SA Fillies Classic.

The daughter of Gimmethegreenlight would go on to claim her biggest career win when landing the 2025 G2 TAB Colorado King Stakes at Turffontein. To date, Let’s Go Now has won or been placed in 14 of her 22 starts and she has earned more than R1 000 000 in prize money.
