Kitty Shelter was established as a cat sanctuary in September 2000, and started taking in puppies in 2004. We are currently in the process of changing our name to Cataholics. We are a non-profit, welfare organization and do not receive any Government funding. As such, we rely heavily on donations from the public – people who care about animals in the same way we do. In order to meet these high sta

ndards, we need all the help we can get, not just in terms of financial support but also in terms of help from volunteers, blankets, donated food etc. This is where you can make a huge difference in helping us care for these animals that have no-one else. An additional area of support that you could provide is to board your cats with us when you are away. We provide the same level of care and love to your animals while they are with us as we do for the welfare animals. In addition, you have the knowledge that you are aiding the care and rehabilitation of our many animals. All donations are appreciated, no matter how large or small or the form they take, your time, your financial support any other assistance you could give. Could Wisteria’s forever family be reading this? 🌸

Every time we post Wisteria, we hope this will be the post that changes her life.

She has watched all of her kittens leave for their forever homes, yet this beautiful girl is still waiting. Wisteria is incredibly affectionate, loves human company, and will happily curl up beside you for cuddles. She has so much love to give.

Wisteria does have one small wish: she’d like to be the only cat in her home. She also needs to be an indoor-only companion, where she’ll be safe, loved, and treasured for the rest of her life.

We know her perfect home may be harder to find, but we also know it’s out there. If you’re looking for a loyal, gentle companion who will make your house feel like home, Wisteria is waiting to meet you. 🌷💕

They may not be adoptable, but they are absolutely worth saving!

These are the cats who have nowhere else to go.

Some are truly feral and will never be happy in a home. Others are unhomable—whether because they were never socialised, have experienced severe trauma, or simply aren’t suited to life as pets. At a no-kill shelter, that doesn’t make them disposable. It makes them our responsibility.

We’re building a permanent sanctuary where these cats can live safely, with shelter, good food, veterinary care, enrichment, and the freedom to simply be themselves.

We’ve come so far, but we still need R10 100 to complete their forever home.

With his adorable little moustache and bright, curious eyes, he’s as sweet as he is handsome. This friendly little boy loves cuddles, enjoys being around people, and is always ready to chase a toy or explore his surroundings.

Spring Roll is one of those kittens who quietly works her way into your heart.

5 months old • Sterilised• Received 1st vaccinations • FIV/FeLV Negative

When she first arrived in foster care, she was a very frightened little girl who wasn’t sure she could trust people. With time, patience and lots of gentle encouragement, she’s blossomed into the sweetest companion, and her foster couldn’t be prouder of how far she’s come.

These days, Spring Roll has discovered just how lovely attention can be. She’ll happily ask for cuddles and has no problem nudging in when the other foster kittens are getting fussed over—she likes to make sure she gets her fair share too!

She still has a slightly timid side, but once she feels safe, her affectionate, gentle personality shines through. She’s looking for a family who will give her the time she needs to settle, because she’s absolutely worth the wait.

Dumpling is the perfect mix of sweet and spicy, wrapped up in the cutest little package. 🥟

This gorgeous girl has a personality that’s impossible not to love. She’s talkative, affectionate, and completely obsessed with her wand toy. She’ll proudly carry it around the house, growling at anyone who dares to take it away from her. It’s one of her funniest little quirks.

It’s hard to believe this is the same kitten who arrived at the shelter hissing at the world. With patience and love, Dumpling has blossomed into a confident, affectionate little girl who enjoys company and isn’t shy about telling you exactly what’s on her mind.

Jack, Camo & Buddy need a home—could it be yours? ❤️

At the beginning of this year, Jack, Camo and Buddy lost the person they loved most when their mom passed away.

Everything they knew disappeared overnight. They were scared, confused and grieving, and it’s taken them months to finally start settling into shelter life.

Now they’re ready for the next step—and they need someone to step forward for them.

These three sweet 6-year-olds have been each other’s comfort through everything. Our biggest hope is to find a home where they can stay together. But most importantly, we want each of them to have a loving, stable future. If needed, we will consider separate adoptions so none of them miss their chance at a home.

They’ve already lost so much. Please don’t let them wait any longer.

Ivy… the tabby girl who somehow keeps getting overlooked for the last 7 months.

The funny thing? She’s not shy anymore. She’s blossomed into a cheeky, playful sweetheart who loves to flop over dramatically, soak up attention, and spend time with her feline friends. 🩶

She’s fully vaccinated, spayed, great with other cats, and ready to fill a home with laughter, cuddles, and just the right amount of tabby mischief.
