All babies who visit us become family. My dogs are my family, and there’s always space for one more in my heart and in our home. Those who know me know that I don’t share my space with just anyone, so having your babies in my home from morning until night, and sharing my bedroom and bed with them, immediately elevates them into a place of personal, heart-based connection. They become my people.

In my opinion, you only get to know another being intimately when you live with them, and that’s how I know all the babies who come to visit us — intimately. I live with and love them the way I love my own babies, and I will bend over backwards to ensure they feel special and seen in my home, our home — always.

This video is dedicated to Benji Texeirra and my own baby, Pebbles, who sadly passed away last week. Benji is the gorgeous Cocker Spaniel in this video, and in many others I have shared over the last 12 years, since I’ve known and loved him. I met Benji as a tiny puppy. In fact, his Mommy, Fatima, adopted him from my assistant back in 2014. She was fetching her other baby, Sandy, from us, and little Benji was running around reception at the time. His adoption was kismet, and he was adopted by a Mom and family who adored him like no other — just the way it should be.

He was the kindest, sweetest, open-hearted, loving little individual, with the most gorgeous “bedroom eyes” — our little “Loverboy” who drove around in the car on his Mommy’s lap, enjoyed ice cream, and was adored by everyone who met him.

As a rule, I don’t usually write about babies passing away on my page, as there have been so many goodbyes over the years. Saying goodbye with a consistency I wasn’t accustomed to affected me deeply, and when my heart is hurt, I tend to withdraw to heal and mourn. In the last year and a half, over 20 babies (that I am aware of) have passed away. It’s been a lot to contend with.

I prefer to chat to the babies’ Moms individually, to talk about their babies and offer emotional support where I can. Over the years, death has unfortunately become a big part of my life, and something I have become quite experienced with — having been personally present in 10 crossovers myself, and offering emotional support and guidance to any Mommies who reach out when their babies pass away.

I’ll get into that topic later in one of my blog videos, because I think it’s an important topic to share, particularly for those who struggle with loss, as I myself have in the past, and am currently processing after saying goodbye to my Pebbles on Mother’s Day. I will share her story when I am ready.

I trust my happy video brings you joy today, and I send love to our newest, brightest Angels, Benji and my Pebby… Mommy loves you forever. 💛

P.S. I am aware that the tone of my video and the final comments regarding Benji and Pebbles are not entirely cohesive. However, it’s good to see how much fun Benji had with us. He was always my little shadow, and you can see him running around having the best time. I will always remember him this way — happy-go-lucky and full of love. 💛

Long goodbyes, messy feelings… and a moment I almost kept to myself.

I’ve been holding on to this video (and another fun little one featuring my boy Chester) for a couple of weeks, unsure whether to share it.

It made a brief debut (about half an hour) by mistake—I hadn’t prepared anything to go with it. I still wasn’t 100% health-wise, so the brain fog felt like a valid reason to delay my peek-a-boo return to social media.

So here it is—warts and all, but more importantly, REAL. Because it’s how it happened, how we all felt, and how it wanted to be shared.

Long goodbyes can be torturous, and this was no exception. What’s not in the video is that I later received the most uplifting clips of Aluna, Alaia, and Yuki arriving home. A magical, healing balm—drying up a full day of tears. Acceptance and gratitude replaced the guilt and angst, and everything felt right again.

Another positive—I FINALLY figured out why my video quality has been so poor when recording by myself (took me a while 😄). So the next hotel story will be much clearer.

I thought about re-recording this—but it would have looked better and felt less real. And that matters more to me.

Welcome to our eccentric little dog world—sometimes emotional, sometimes messy, sometimes fun—but always full of love, and always real.

Lots of love,
Ineke 💛
