From a VERY difficult start in lockdown of COVID to actual opening of the doors on 1 June 2020, we have gone through more trails and tribulations one can ever imagine. Crying happy tears and also way too many sad tears with all our wonderful clients. Nothing could have prepared us for the journey we have been on. No business ever has smooth sailing and this one has had its limits tested on a daily basis. For those who have stuck by us through thick and thin - we salute you. We love you ,and we are proud of our family and the community we have built around our wonderful 4 legged ( sometimes 3) children. We really do love what we do and we wish for at least another 6 years of being able to do this.

An important part of our day is making sure all our doggies are not over doing it. Too much playing can actually be a bad thing . So , calming music and scheduled rest times are implemented every day and everyone gets used to switching off for a while and rest. Well, most of us - unless your name is Rosie-Bee and Luke !😂😂

Thank you to ALL our clients who made this donation possible. A special thanks to Gunnery Arms &Ammo that donated the Bullet Proof Vest as well as two pepper sprays for the two inspectors - Kyle and Prosper.
We managed to get plenty of food, beds, toys, harnesses , collars , shampoo, bowls - anything you can think of - from our clients. We also managed to raise enough money to buy a very fancy Bodycam with GPS capability that can record all footage while the inspectors are busy helping the animal at hand. Not only will this keep the inspectors safe but also supply valuable footage that can secure more convictions of animal abuse in this area. The world is not so pretty out there and hopefully with this body cam the inspectors can show everyone what they deal with on a daily basis. They are superhero's that need our support. Dogs Day Out will continue to support Animal Welfare Helderberg as long as we are in business (which is hopefully a very long time) because we love and appreciate what they do.

We are super proud of Knox who is doing his first performance as a working dog at the Volunteer Wildfire Services Open Day at Ysterplaat tomorrow. Buy your ticket on Quicket. He will be performing at 10h30 and 1h30. Knox has been with us since puppy and had been amazing to watch him grow and play his heart out at Dogs Day Out.
