GAWS STERILISATION CLINIC
Despite the cold and challenging weather, this week's sterilisation clinic was one of the best attendances.

For us, this is wonderful. It shows that our ongoing efforts to educate and support the community in building a healthier, stronger pet population through responsible sterilisation are making a real difference.

We were delighted to see a great number of owners bringing their dogs and cats to the Moravian Hall. Together, we sterilised 38 dogs and 11 cats, helping to prevent unwanted litters and improve the long-term welfare of animals in our communities.
The demand was so great that we may soon need to launch a fundraising appeal for additional recovery cages — a challenge we are more than happy to face!

What makes these clinic days so special is the spirit of partnership. The dedication of Dr Hildidge Beer and her team of 7, our hardworking staff, volunteers, and the many caring pet owners who braved the weather to attend reminds us why we do what we do. Every animal sterilised represents a brighter future, and every person who participates becomes part of a community that cares.

To everyone who supported this clinic, thank you. Together, we are creating lasting change. ❤️🐾

PROFESSIONAL TAIL WAGGERS - SEEKING LOVING HUMANS

We have some beautiful dogs and cats that are looking for their forever homes. Please talk to our volunteers at the Saturday Greyton Market about adopting, and even getting a cuddle from some of our pets.

Meet Olive!
She is one our youngest and most enthusiastic volunteers.
What does she do at GAWS you may ask?
One of the most important jobs there are:
ANIMAL CUDDLES!

One of our main goals, is to rehabilitate neglected and abused animnals.
One of the the biggest challenges for them to overcome, is regaining trust in human beings.
So regular visits from kind volunteers, like Olive, really helps them along in the process.
And as we all know, there’s magic in the relationship between an animal and a child. :)

So be more like Olive!
Come visit our vulnarable animals and just show them how kind humans can be. :)
We’re open 9 - 5 on Weekdays, and 9 - 1 on Saturdays!

See you soon!

MOOJI – A LITTLE FIGHTER WITH A BIG HEART
Sometimes resilience comes in very small parcels.

Mooji as a five-month-old c**t who had already faced more challenges than most horses encounter in a lifetime, lost his mother, Rosie, leaving him orphaned at a very young age. Thankfully, he was not alone. His older "brother" the feisty Eli became his constant companion, protector and surrogate parent, and the two have been inseparable ever since in the GAWS paddock.

With his kind nature, Mooji has captured the hearts of everyone who knows him.
Last month, however, Mooji faced another hurdle when he became ill with biliary disease and was taken into our care. Just as he seemed to be recovering, volunteers noticed a worrying lump on his side and brought him into the safety of our paddock for closer observation. A veterinary examination revealed that the biliary infection had returned.
For a while, things looked uncertain. Mooji lost his appetite and his energy faded. But this little fighter had other ideas.
Surrounded by the love and dedication of our GAWS volunteers, Mooji slowly began to turn a corner. Day by day, his appetite returned, and before long he was eating with gusto. Today he is "eating like a demon," delighting everyone who has been caring for him. While he still has a seroma on his side that continues to be monitored, his spirit remains as strong as ever.
Mooji's journey is a reminder that healing is not always about medicine alone. Sometimes it is the patient hands, kind words, extra feeds, careful monitoring and unwavering commitment of a community that make all the difference.

This brave young c**t still has a road ahead of him, but thanks to the love and care of those around him, Mooji is showing us exactly what determination looks like.
We are all rooting for you, little Mooji. ❤️🐴

BOARDING KENNELS FOR OUR DOGS AND CATS
We Greytonians love our animals, and how fortunate we are to have a safe, comfortable and caring place where our dogs and cats can also enjoy a little holiday of their own.
Over the past 12 months, we have worked tirelessly to transform the GAWS kennels and Cats Cradle to provide top-class accommodation for both dogs and cats needing short or longer stays.
Our boarding facilities are also ideal for tourists and weekend visitors whose guesthouses or B&Bs are unable to accommodate pets. This means visitors can still enjoy Greyton’s wonderful dog-friendly lifestyle — from scenic dog-friendly walking trails and the Saturday market, to our many welcoming cafés and restaurants.
We can offer:
• Overnight stays
• Weekend boarding
• Day care
• A little “spa time” and extra pampering

Your pets will be cared for in a secure, loving environment while you enjoy your time away.
We offer very competitive rates for both dogs and cats.
📞 For bookings or enquiries, please call 071 105 0366.

WARM WINTER CLOTHES NEEDED PLEASE ❄️

We are making an urgent appeal for warm winter clothing for our community through the GAWS Charity Shop in Main Road.

With June and the colder weather almost upon us, our winter clothing rail is looking worryingly empty. At the same time, warm jackets, jerseys, blankets, scarves and shoes are flying out the door as families prepare for winter. Especially blankets for our sterilisation clinic next week.

We are asking everyone to please take a look through your cupboards and wardrobes and donate any warm clothing you are no longer wearing. Every jersey, jacket, blanket or pair of shoes makes a real difference to someone facing the cold this winter.

Drop-offs can be made at the GAWS Charity Shop in Main Road.

Thank you for helping us keep our community warm this winter. ❤️

Sharon Heath is an amazing long-standing GAWS volunteer who often opens up her home to injured & abused horses in need of TLC and treatment… a real family affair as everyone gets involved. 🐴🐶🐱 She’s an animal Mom to 3 dogs and 2 cats, and also tends to local injured and baby birds who she has saved & hand reared! 🐦

🐦‍⬛Sharon is a real animal angel and we are so grateful for her huge heart and endless compassion.
