Then and now... sometimes, in rural practice you get a person animal... in our case we got Nugget... admitted with a puncture to the skull, and severe bite wounds to his hind quarters, having seizures and barely able to function without having one, we are now, thanks to Dr B's stable and healing hands, 2 and a half years down the line... no more seizures but as he is missing a portion of his skull, unable, and unwilling🫣, to return to the wild.... however.... Nugget has successfully assisted us in rehabilitating 20 dassies, another blue duiker and currently, "Rosie posie" ... Rosie is a steenbok ewe, who's mother was unfortunately taken by subsistence hunters... she has been moved to the release boma where Nugget visits her daily, she will remain here with minimal human contact for the next month, thereafter we will be finding her a forever release home.
Here's to Nugget, who braved through a possible terminal diagnosis, to become the most amazing emotional support animal... as most of you may know my daughter has broken her leg.... and true to form this little man has taken his job seriously and keeps popping inside to check on his human patient.
