So, we built a pool for the volunteers, extended our solar system to accomodate humanes and animals and extended our tackroom to also cater for both!

Thanks for having me and my volunteers to be part of this amazing experience. It's a very intense feeling to see these majestic animals on the ground. The moment they're down and vulnarable while you're taking their nature given weapon of defense, to safe them. I personally question humans .

Anke Kruger
Due to a lot of unexpected circumstances she endet up staying with us.
An exceptional horse woman, a caring and lovely human, guide and mentor.
With her came Jock (her lovely dog )and Geallach Ur, her horse.
Please welcome all three, we can't wait what the future holds for all of us.

Khaya Hanci Horsetrails offers an experience of the South African bush like no other; the feeling of being surrounded by a tower of giraffe on horseback, hearing the fish eagle call, or cantering towards the Drakensberg Mountains is unsurpassed. Take a picturesque ride on horseback into the rugged foothills of the Drakensberg Mountains enjoying the lush vegetation and spectacular views, or a trail through the Lowveld Acacia Woodland on Moholoholo Mountain View; a Big 3 game reserve home to a wide variety of birds and animals such as Buffalo, Rhino, Hippo and Leopard as well as plentiful plains game.

We also have affordable, all-inclusive volunteer programs on offer here in SA! Each of our horses have been rescued and rehabilitated on site by staff, friends and volunteers. Enjoy the tranquil setting at Khaya Hanci; with glorious mountain views, sweeping paddocks, a relaxed atmosphere and importantly-happy horses! Excursions are available to volunteers, as well as Mountain and Moholoholo trail rides. Experienced riders with good horsemanship skills and patience are needed.
