🦌 A happy ending for this little Cape Grysbok!

This bokkie got himself stuck in a fence near a Cape Town navy premises, and in his panic to break free, he injured himself quite badly. Our SPCA Wildlife team was called out and carefully freed him from the fencing.

From there, he was placed in the expert hands of Dr Faatimah from Steenberg Veterinary Clinic, who treated his wounds and monitored his recovery with round-the-clock care.

Weeks later, fully healed and full of energy, he was taken back to the veld and released exactly where he needed to be. Watching him bound off into the fynbos, healthy and free, is exactly why we do what we do. 💚

A huge thank you to Dr Faatimah and the team at Steenberg Vet for their incredible care.

One simple procedure can change far more than one animal’s life.

Sterilising a pet prevents unwanted litters before they happen, helping to reduce the number of animals born onto the streets, surrendered to shelters, or left vulnerable to neglect and suffering.

Last year alone, the Cape of Good Hope SPCA Animal Hospital performed 6,307 sterilisations, with thousands more animals reached through our Mobile Clinics.

Every sterilisation helps break the cycle.
