Cucumber 🥒

🐾Key Benefits
* Hydration Boost: Perfect for hot summer days, their high water content keeps your dog refreshed and helps prevent dehydration.
* Weight Management: Virtually free of fat and very low in calories, they are the ideal crunchy snack for dogs on weight-loss regimens.
* Freshen Breath: The high moisture and phytochemicals can naturally help wash away bacteria in the mouth.
* Nutrient Rich: Packed with Vitamin K (which supports bone health) and Vitamin C (which acts as an antioxidant).
* Safe for Diabetics: Because they contain minimal sugar, they make a perfectly safe training reward for diabetic pups.

🐾How to Feed Them Safely
* Cut into bite-sized pieces: This prevents choking, especially in smaller dogs.
* Portion control: Treats should only make up 10% of your dog’s daily diet.
* Peel the skin: While safe, the skin can sometimes be tough for dogs to digest.
* Remove the seeds: Similar to the skin, large quantities of seeds can occasionally upset a sensitive stomach.
* Avoid Pickles: Only feed plain cucumbers. Pickles are packed with spices, vinegar, and high levels of sodium, which can be toxic to dogs.

🐶 Portion & safety tips
* ALWAYS INTRODUCE NEW FOODS SLOWLY AND IN SMALL AMOUNTS WATCHING FOR STOMACH UPSETS AND ALLERGIES
* Treats should be ≤10% of daily calories
* Always adjust for your dog’s size, age, and health
* Cut food appropriately to avoid choking

To the mothers raising babies and the mothers raising grown children.
To the single moms doing double shifts with tired eyes and endless love.
To the stepmoms, bonus moms, foster moms, adoptive moms and grandmothers who became mothers all over again.

To the women longing to be mothers.
To the women who lost children.
To the children who lost mothers and carry them in memory today.

To the aunties, sisters, mentors, teachers and friends who mother with kindness, guidance, protection, and love.

To the dads doing both roles.

To the pet moms whose hearts nurture different species with their own unique needs in their own beautiful way.

To the moms who make everything look easy when it isn’t.
To the moms healing while still helping everyone else heal.

Motherhood is not one story.
It is strength, sacrifice, softness, resilience, patience, chaos, laughter and unconditional love in countless forms.

Today we celebrate all Mothers in all forms.

Happy Mother’s Day. 🤍

Key Health Benefits of Carrots for Dogs🥕

🐾Dental Health
The crunchy texture of raw carrots acts as a natural toothbrush, gently scraping teeth to reduce plaque buildup and promote better oral hygiene.

🐾Improved Digestion
High fiber content helps regulate bowel movements and supports a healthy gut.

🐾Essential Nutrient Source
Carrots are rich in beta-carotene (which converts to Vitamin A), supporting healthy vision, immune system strength, and a healthy coat. They also provide vitamins K and B6.

🐾Weight Management
Being low in calories and fat, carrots are excellent healthy snacks for dogs that need to lose weight or maintain a healthy weight.

🐾Nutritious Chewing Tool
Feeding raw carrots can satisfy a dog’s natural instinct to chew, making them a great alternative to artificial chew toys.

🐾Anti-inflammatory/Anti-cancer
Antioxidants like lutein and lycopene in carrots help combat free radicals, with studies showing that yellow-orange vegetables may decrease the risk of bladder cancer in some dogs.

Feeding Tips 🥕

🐾Moderation
Treats should make up less than 10% of a dog’s daily diet, as too many carrots can cause digestive upset or excessive intake of natural sugars.

🐾Safety
Wash carrots thoroughly to remove dirt. Chop them into small, manageable pieces to prevent choking, especially for smaller dogs.

🐾Serving Style
Both raw and cooked carrots are safe for dogs. Raw carrots offer the best dental benefits, while lightly steamed or pureed carrots are easier for dogs to digest.

🐾Puppies
Frozen carrots can be used as a soothing teething remedy for puppies.

Healthy snacks for dogs inspired by buns 🐰

ALWAYS INTRODUCE NEW FOODS SLOWLY AND IN SMALL AMOUNTS WATCHING FOR STOMACH UPSETS AND ALLERGIES. IF IN DOUBT ALWAYS SEEK ADVICE FROM YOUR VETERINARIAN

🥕 Vegetables

* Carrots – crunchy, good for teeth, rich in beta-carotene
* Sugar snap peas - rich in fiber, vitamin C and vitamin K
* Green beans – filling, low-calorie and contain Magnesium and B Vitamins
* Cucumbers – hydrating and refreshing
* Pumpkin (plain, cooked) – helps digestion (great for sensitive stomachs)
* Broccoli – safe in small amounts (too much can cause gas) and contains Folate and Iron
👉 Tip: Serve veggies plain (no salt, oil, or seasoning) and cut into bite-sized pieces.

🍎 Fruits

Good as occasional treats due to natural sugar:
* Apples – remove seeds and core
* Bananas – potassium-rich but high in sugar → small portions
* Blueberries – antioxidants powerhouse
* Strawberries – vitamin C boost
* Watermelon – hydrating; remove seeds and rind
👉 Keep fruit portions small—think “treat,” not “meal.”

“‘It doesn’t happen all at once,’ said the Skin Horse.

‘You become.

It takes a long time. That’s why it doesn’t happen often to people who break easily, or have sharp edges, or who have to be carefully kept.

Generally, by the time you are Real, most of your hair has been loved off, and your eyes drop out and you get loose in the joints and very shabby.

But these things don’t matter at all.’”🐾

You may have noticed ornamental bunnies placed throughout our practices.🐇They are more than just cute objects, they represent what we stand for and one our deepest passions; the care of the velveteens, the senior companions.

There’s something deeply special about the quiet wisdom of senior pets—the slow wag of a tail, the gentle purr, the knowing eyes that have felt years of love. Our business was born from a simple belief: that dogs and cats in their golden years deserve not just care, but dignity, comfort, and unwavering compassion.🩺

We are devoted to looking after senior companions as if they were our own. With age comes unique needs— environmental modification, tailored exercise, targeted nutrition and a little more patience. We understand that behind every grey muzzle is a lifetime of loyalty and we honour that by providing attentive, specialized care designed to support their health and happiness.💚

From daily routines to medical support, every detail is handled with tenderness and respect. We take the time to learn each pet’s personality, quirks and history, ensuring they feel safe, understood and loved at every moment. Whether it’s a soothing massage, providing gentle exercise or simply sitting quietly by their side, we believe the smallest acts of care make the biggest difference.🐾

But our work isn’t just about pets—it’s about the families who love them. We partner closely with pet parents, offering reassurance, guidance and peace of mind, knowing their beloved companions are in caring hands.
Because in the end, senior dogs and cats aren’t just animals—they are family. And they deserve a place where their final chapters are filled with warmth, comfort and love.🤍
