On our last stop while visiting the Klein Karoo, we ended at Aardts Cabins, nestled near the Kammanassie mountains, just outside De Rust. This magnificent architectural design of the accommodation is something to marvel. Geat care has been taken with all the attention to detail to this modern day bunker! The unit sleeps 2 people comfortably and also has an additional bunk bed for another 2. Equipped with all the basics you need to enjoy a dessert like experience - awesome braai area, an outside shower, if that's not sweet enough, just fire up the hot tub on chilly nights, or leave it as a warm water pool on the hot summer days. The bunker is dog-friendly, and although not fenced, it is a safe environment for them to go wandering about - if the heat allows that in summer 🌞. Andrew also lives close by to the property to help with all your needs at the bunker.

How to get there? Once you near De Rust, you will drive through beautiful farm lands on a gravel road, and the last bit gets a bit steep and rocky at places - it's recommended to have a vehicle with higher clearance.

If you need anything from the nearby town of De Rust, it will be about a 30 minute drive each way, this is mainly due to the terrain.

We also took a trip to the nearby, very secluded Rus & Vrede waterfall, it's only an hour away and absolutely worth a visit. It's one of the most beautiful waterfalls and natural poolsI have ever seen! 🏞
