🚨 Another Water Monitor Mission Complete! 🚨

We’ve been getting a TON of calls lately from people all around East London who are convinced they’ve got “small crocodiles” in their yards 😂 It’s almost always one of these beautiful Water Monitors!

This big boy decided to go on an adventure and ran straight into an outside room at an officeblock, getting himself completely trapped. We responded immediately, safely captured him with zero stress to the animal, but almost causing heart failure to the onlookers.

Mission accomplished! Watch the video below to see the happy release back into his natural habitat — where he won’t be causing any more chaos for the locals, at least for a while 😉

These guys are important to our ecosystem (they’re NOT crocodiles and they’re generally shy around humans), so please don’t panic if you spot one — just give us a shout!

Festive season surprise call-out!

A frightened lady reported a large snake in her yard — photo sent, and it wasn't one of our usual suspects!

Turned out to be a feisty rat snake (non-venomous but surprisingly aggressive when cornered — lots of striking and attitude! 😅).

These aren't indigenous to South Africa, so we couldn't relocate it as we normally do. Safely recovered and donated to The Venom Pit Snake Park East London for a good home.

Thanks for the assist, team — and huge thanks to everyone who reports sightings! 🐍 Keep 'em coming, we're on call 24/7.

🚨 Snake Call-Out: Puff Adder… or Not? 🐍
We were called out to safely remove what was believed to be a Puff Adder, after the owners grew concerned for the safety of their dogs. Always a wise move — when in doubt, keep your distance and call a professional.

Upon arrival, we quickly identified the snake as a Night Adder — not as venomous as a Puff Adder, but still one to respect.

👉 What’s the difference?

Puff Adders are heavy-bodied, extremely venomous, and rely on camouflage. A bite can be fatal to pets or people without treatment.

Night Adders are slimmer, mildly venomous, and generally avoid confrontation. Their venom is less dangerous, and they have a very noticeable "V" on its head.

This particular Night Adder had just eaten — you can see the bulge in its belly as we released it back into suitable habitat, far from human and pet activity.

🛑 Remember: If you're unsure, don’t touch.
📞 Call us — we’re always ready to respond safely and responsibly.

Today ended on a happy note with this little guy being released uninjured. He flew into a window which knocked him unconscious. However a quick check out ensured that he had no broken bones and could head off on his merry way.

This is our most recent patient. Found very weak and disoriented. Possible poisoning. I think he may have been found in time. Hopefully just a short stay then back on his way.

Spotted bush snakes are very common in the eastern cape and are often mistaken for boomslangs, bush snakes are not shy and boomslangs are. Spotted bush snakes are very useful around the house because they keep the gecko population under control. So if you see a green snake, don't kill it, keep your eye on it and you might see it find some food. Don't hesitate to post a photo or call me should you spot a snake and are unsure of what it is.

Great relocation today! Got the call to come collect a BIG puff adder. And that is what it was... awesome to see such a large specimen and to send him on his way unharmed.

Always be vigilant for snakes soaking up the heat on gravel roads. Take 2 mins to make sure they get off the road safely. Never grab a snake if you are unsure of what it is, they will move off on their own.
