Some dogs take a little longer to believe they're safe. Molly was one of them. ❤️
When Molly first arrived at our kennels, she was terrified. She would not allow anyone near her, avoided eye contact, and seemed determined to disappear from the world around her. Covered in ticks and fleas, we could only imagine what she had been through before she came to us.
Molly became our office dog, not because she wanted to be, but because we wanted her to learn that people could be kind. For two weeks she would not let anyone come close. Every morning we carried her from her kennel, and every afternoon we carried her back. Where we put her down was where she stayed. Watching her fear was heartbreaking.
But we didn't give up on her.
Slowly, day by day, Molly began to trust. A glance became a look. A look became a wag. A wag became hope.
Today, Molly — now Libby — has found her forever home.
Saying goodbye to some animals is easy. Saying goodbye to Libby was not. We loved her deeply and she will always hold a special place in our hearts. But seeing her with her new family, safe, loved and finally living the life she deserves, makes every tear worth it.
Be happy, sweet Libby. You were worth the wait. ❤️🐾
