We are really struggling... we still have R19k of R25k to pay for the month and desperately need help.

It's so hard - we do the best we can, but we are supposed to operate out of a positive balance, only taking in kittens when there are funds available. But being in rescue isn't always so easy. Try being on a vet call at midnight deciding whether you can afford to save a sick kitten or not based on the funds in the account. It's impossible.

Every month we find ourselves in the negative. It's what makes doing this part of rescue - being on the front lines - so difficult. Not everyone can do it, but without the entire community we wouldn't be able to do what we do at all. MANY people want to help, but not many people know how. Sometimes you can't foster, don't have money to donate, or aren't at a place in your life where you can help.

But that's what Outkittened was founded to help solve. Through us you can support and change the lives of these kittens in our community. Our fosters come and go, donations come from many different places every month, many different volunteers help keep this thing running... but at the end of the day it also comes down to what we can AFFORD to do.

We can't send the kittens to vets if we don't have money. We can't buy kitten milk, kibble, blankies, steriliser spray, dewormers etc etc etc. The list goes on and on.

Sometimes all it takes is a share, a repost, R50, heck R10! If we could get 1000 people to give just R19 each, our bills would be paid this month in full! Imagine if those 1000 people made that R19 a recurring donation... imagine what we could do EVERY month!?

Small things, but things that can change lives! Let's see how many we can change, together?

Meet Maverick & Goose. 🐾✈️

These two were found at the air force base by a kind lady who knew they needed help, and we answered the call. 🫡

At around 4 weeks old they came to us underweight and riddled with fleas, and those first few days of bottle feeding were tough. They just weren't latching, and it took a whole lot of patience and perseverance to get them through it. But get through it they did, and two weeks later, these babies are growing beautifully and are healthy and thriving. 🥹

A huge thank you toLogan Sneyd, one of our most dedicated and beloved donors, for sponsoring both Maverick and Goose and helping make their journey possible. And today just so happens to be Logan's 30th birthday! 🥳🎂

Pip is the chatty cuddle bug who loves routine and being your shadow, Bean is the adventurous little firecracker who’s always climbing and exploring, Brielle is your soft purring girl who will happily curl up on you when it’s time to rest, and Esper is the playful chaos boy who loves sunbathing, wrestling anything in sight, and stealing socks 😜

All four are affectionate, full of personality, and would thrive in loving homes where they can play, explore, and be properly adored 🏡

Right now, one of the biggest things limiting rescue is simply not having enough foster homes 💔

We can only help kittens if we have safe spaces for them to go, and that’s why fosters are so incredibly important.

If you’ve ever considered fostering but felt nervous or unsure, our training is designed exactly for that 😋 You do NOT need experience. You just need a little space, some patience, and a willingness to help. We’ll teach you the rest.
