🐕 🐕 🐈 💞STERRIE WEDNESDAY UPDATE – PANDEMONIUM PUNCTURE START TO THE DAY 🐕 🐕 🐈 💞

🐕 💞 Atlantis, Groenerivier & Chatsworth in the Swartland – 7th May 2025🐕 💞

🐕 🐕 🐈 💞 Pandemonium puncture to start our day but the silver lining always shines through.🐈 🐈 🐕 🐕 🐕 💞 We had 10 fantastic furbabies to “fix” 🐈 🐈 🐕 🐕 🐕 💞

💞🐱 💞🐱 While waiting for the puncture to be fixed, a quick stroll down the road, secured collection of super happy, waggie tailed Daisy. A beautiful cross pittie lady with a voice full of chatter. Princess Maya, a kitty lass from Atlantis, joined the party and was safely popped into a cat carrier so she could ride shotgun with Monica. Engen on Klein Dassenberg Road was the first pit stop where Noenoes, a rescued kitty ‘nunu’ was collected. Having had two litters already, her paw parents decided to do the right thing for her and get her steried. Thank you paw parents!!!💞🐱 💞🐱

Then it was on to Groenerivier Estate where five kitcats were gathered up. Two lassies and three lads. Remember the chocolate box kitties that were too young to sterrie in March?? Well that was them, all of age now to help stop the circle of suffering. Another thank you paw parents!! 💞🐱 💞🐱

Chatsworth was next!!, where Bunny ,a sweet little fox terrier cross without a bounce, was collected. She was a little overwhelmed by all the action and clung like a cat to her carrier. We didn’t mean to laugh, but it was funny to see. 🐕 💞

En route to the vets, we picked up Meeka, another pittie cross, who appeared to have had a litter as her milk glands were heavy. Her paw parents said that she hadn’t given birth, so we were major concerned. It was discovered that hectic hormones were at fault so Meeka was steried. And yet another thank you to her paw parents 🐕 🐕 🐈 💞

🐕 🐕 💞 A day that started late, ended great!!! No spitting, hissing, biting or scratching was experienced. Jessica, our star angel volunteer, came with us on the return trip and dutifully handed the furkids back to their paw parents.🐕 🐕 💞 💞

🐕 🐕 🐕 🐕 💞 Today we had 4 “A box of Allsorts” doggos 🐕 🐕 🐕 🐕 💞

💞🐱 💞🐱 Gorgeous, friendly, fluffy, marsh-mellow softness Snowy from Atlantis, has quit the puppy production team and joined ”Ladies Without Babies”. Then there was Lola from Silvertown, who was as stubborn as a rock🪨 and wouldn’t budge from her spot. Try carrying 43kg’s of heaviness and see how you feel🥹🤣. Then 🎶her name was Layla🎶was handed over to the vet, crate and all. No friendly head butts or wagging tail from her.
She was probably more scared of us than we were of her. Lastly there was Saskia, sweet and friendly but with a “don’t you dare stick that needle into me” message in her eyes. 🐕 🐕 🐕 🐕 💞

🐕 💞 ‘No budge’ Layla needed extra tlc as her recent pregnancy had ended in her aborting the pup and that had left a mess behind😭. A huge thank you to her paw parents for caring about her so much by having her sterilized so that there will be no more suffering.👩‍❤️‍💋‍👨🫶👍

An all in all smooth-running, very good day😁🙌* Collections and deliveries went well😊👏No one saw Monica and Jessica hiding behind the bakkie when Layla was off loaded (did I say that🤣)

We love what we do but may there not be many dealings with 40+ kg Rottweilers that break your back days😵‍💫 🐕 🐕 🐕 🐕 💞

😄STERRIE WEDNESDAY IS BACK ON TRACK👏

Chatsworth in the Swartland – 26TH March 2025🐕💪🐈🐕 💞

Loving by caring💞Dogs leave paw prints forever on our hearts💞

🤩Yes, we are back to fight the war against the cycle of suffering🐶🐱although we can only say that it was a day of odorous chaos🤨but very successful so we will take this as punishment for being away so long😊

They p**ped💩…….they puked🤮……..but they are soooooooo pretty🥰

A no-name mommy cat🐱 with her tribe in tow (we will get back to them) from Groenerivier Estate and two doggo’s, 🐶Spot, also from Groenerivier Estate is a gorgeous, loveable, friendly, playful (we are running out of words) black and white male pitbull, and Lady, from Chatsworth, is a brindle and white equally beautiful pitbull mix, but the opposite in temperament. She gave the vet a gruelling time as she fought constantly against being touched. But all ended well and she has joined the “mothers without babies” team👏

Imagine our joy when we were told there were six cats to sterilise🙀but we were surprised that all six were in one cat carrier🤨so we decided to play it safe and leave the bunch bunched🤣suffice to say the cat carrier did not hold up under the strain of mass occupancy, so we “MacGyvered” the carrier and popped the lot into the footwell of the bakkie🐾

The chocolate box kittens were underweight so we will return with them in five weeks. Bergzicht saved the day and washed the p**p away and the result speaks for itself😍 they are “oh my word” beautiful😊Mommy cat has been sterilised YAY!!!🙌 And we will return with the others.

Our angel volunteers, Jessica and Dean, 😇😇were all smiles,😀 as this is Animal Outreach, and we couldn’t manage without them👊🫂They put the 'can' into 'cannot do' and we are so grateful for them

🐕 💞Chatsworth in the Swartland – 8th January 2025🐕 💞

Our first, and certainly not our last, "Steri Wednesday" sterilization program started well with our “gleesome th*****me”!🙌

Who said three’s a crowd when these three bumped the year off by joining “Balls must Fall” and ”Ladies without Babies” 🐕 🐕 🐕

💞We are super proud of their paw parents for making this choice 🐕 🐕 🐕 💞

We collected, sterilised and delivered three delightful doggos from Chatsworth. 🐕 🐕 Murungu and Snowy, little ladies of delight and then there was George, the “prince” of the pack. 🐕 🐕 🐕 💞 What can we say but more and more often we collect well-mannered joyful nunu’s who impress every hand that reaches out to pat them and reassures our vet that everything will run smoothly. No biting, no complications, only blissful behaviour from this th*****me.

Included in our day, we collected a young pup called Spot. Spot was not feeling very well. 😢He has chronic Coccidiosis which is a parasitic disease of the intestinal tract. Sadly he may have an undeveloped immune system. Stress can trigger symptoms in some puppies, which is evident from the sores on his little body, so this lad has quite a recovery ahead of him.🙏

Luckily treatment is routine and effective so to be on the safe side he stayed over at the vet’s on Wednesday night. He is not out of the woods yet though, but was able to return to his foster mom, Katy, who was very happy to have him back in her care.

Please put your paws together and pray that he will be as right as rain, and please continue to help us end the cycle of suffering by sterilising your pets🐶🐱

🙏Christmas is a time of "giving", and it has been and gone for 2024 but "giving" does not need to be🙏

Last week Star Animal Project collected a little black dog that was no longer wanted. We just wanted to cry😭....... Christmas wanted to cry too. 😭 He was taken to Bergzicht Dierehospitaal for a check up. They did blood work and all is clear but as you can see, this poor soul has rickets🤬😭

This pup needs your help.......this pup spends his days walking abnormally, in constant pain in the bones in his legs and runs the risk of even fracturing them😵

He needs a properly balanced diet with vitamins and minerals, and this is where the Christmas spirit of "giving" will be a gift from God and from you. Nutrition, nutrition and more nutrition is needed. then hopefully his legs will straighten beautifully and he will put on some weight - then we can find a lovely new home for him.😞🙏🏠

If you have space in your heart and in your pocket to dig a little deeper into the "giving" box, can you help with Bravecto; Dewormers or some nutritious food high in phosphorus, vitamin D, and calcium. We are feeding him puppy food to start with but this pup must be switched to a complete and well-balanced diet moving forward.🙏🙏

😢we are still crying as he is so starved. Despite this neglect he has a forgiving soul with a kind and friendly nature. Let's not let him down🙏🙏🙏

Today was a ladies day with two gorgeous gals called Stacy and Kia from Chatsworth🐕 🐕 💞
They were both slightly nervous but non-nipping, non-biting lovely lasses who took the whole experience in their stride 🐕 🐕 💞
We picked them up and then returned them to their open armed paw parents who were overjoyed to have them back 🐕 🐕 💞

Remember Geesy, the lass being treated with chemotherapy for her TVT infection? Well, she had her 4th session yesterday and yay!!! her body is responding so well 🐕 🐕 💞
We firmly believe that the secret is in the biscuit she gets when it’s over 🤣🐕 🐕 💞

A touch of sadness did dampen our day though when we had to send a badly wounded doggo over the rainbow bridge 😭🌈 🐕 💔
To the bereaved pawparents all we can say is "May your cherished dog rest in peace."

🐾🐕 Remember last Wednesday we introduced you to Gessy, our beautiful boerboel X from Silvertown. The brave lady that is getting chemotherapy for TVT🤔Well yesterday was her 3rd session. And what a star she is🌟 After the chemotherapy, Angel Monica gave her a biscuit, aaah, she is so adorable. 💞💞She is responding well to the chemotherapy and we will see after next weeks session if she needs another 1 or 2 sessions.🐶Please continue to keep your paws together for a positive outcome🙏🐕🐾

🐕 💞Our Steri Wednesday's are bouncing with snips and even more snips. 🐕 🐕

🐈 🐕 🐕 💞 Today we had 2 doggos and 3 cats 🐈 🐕 🐕 💞 🐈
🐕 💞 A very camera shy bunch, but we managed to snap three of the five. 🐕 💞Vets were smiling and pleased with everyone🙌 Dean and Jessica, our favourite volunteers, were with us to lend a paw and we are sooooo grateful for their help 🫂

Sonic, a male German Shepherd cross was joined by Alfie, a female Jack Russell cross who behaved like a gent and lady are supposed to and covered Monica with kisses as they joined the ranks to help us fight the war against the cycle of suffering. 🐕 💞

🐕 💞The three kitcats were a motley crew of fur balls. Harley, previously rescued by our angel volunteers, Jessica and Dean and rehomed by them, made an appearance to get snipped. Then there was Kai, a big fluffy ginger ninja and lastly Mueeza, which means ‘one who loves others dearly”, “bringer of glory and might”, “one who appreciates others”, “one who grants honour to others” but I think they left out ‘ one who can’t stop tallking’, as she was a chatterbox of enormous proportions. All furries for the day were from Chatsworth and have helped take away the sadness of abandoned offspring by joining the ranks of "ladies without babies " and “ balls must fall”.

🐕 💞 On the way back to fetch our sterries for the day, we picked up a beautiful female Boerbul cross doggie called Gessy (strange spelling) who sadly has been diagnosed with TVT (transmissible venereal tumour).😭 She had her first round of chemotherapy today which she handled well. There will be another three to six sessions coming up so everyone please hold paws that she heals well. 🙏She also has a secondary infection and is being treated with doxycycline for that.😠

This is another reason why sterilizing your pets is so important. Sterilization doesn’t only slow down the rapid reproduction rates but reduces the likelihood of testicular, ovarian, uterine and/or mammary cancers. So poor Gesse could have been avoided of all this pain and suffering.😡

Today we had 3 doggos, Sky and Bekkie from Chatsworth, who both captured our hearts with their healthy well looked after little bodies and very sweet natures, and then cutie patootie Bonnie bounced into the mix from Riverside. Ivy, a ginger Non-Ninja kitcat, was the quietest little nunu imaginable on the car ride 🐈 a mew ”hello” was all we got from her or maybe it was a ”thank you” as she joined the “ladies without Babies” Movement💞
